DRK is my new main as well
DRK is my new main as well

ITT : people implying only one person is needed to make a MMORPG.
Most people who made the 1.0 are still working on ARR now. They just... learnt from their mistakes? like everyone?

So is this another I hate Yoshi-P thread, disappointed DRK isn't like FFXI, or something else?
I think too many people forget it was the players that decided on what they wanted changed and not just Yoshi-P.

Tanaka refused to listen to the player base. it took him how long to put moogles in selbina? How long were people asking for it?
Fact of the matter is Tanaka should have stuck with single player games, MMOs weren't exactly a good idea. A lot of what he did was "oh this job is underused lets make it excel in the next expansion or upcoming fight so people have to play longer.
FFXI was never hard. Fact. I you were willing to level another job and gear/use that for content it made it very easy.
Tanaka wasn't suitable for MMOs since he didn't want to develop for the community but make the game to fit his views.
A lot of people forget the majority of the 1.0 changes they liked were made by Yoshi-P
Will never forget around ToAU when he lectured in an interview that he hated western players becuase they "try to get us to listen to their ideas about what should or shouldn't be in the game, rather than the japanese who understand it is /our/ game and we are letting them play it"
Pretty much summed up his stance entirely for any who hadn't realized what he was like.
Yoshida see's himself as a sort of shepherd for a game that he tries to make the way we, his consumers, want it though...
Which version of 14 has filled SE's pockets past the brim with cash?![]()

Fixed that for you, a lot of people here have a huge bias towards Tanaka because of his amazing work in his single player games.
He failed miserably on FFXIV and almost destroyed the brand image as a whole.
Major investors left SE because of his mistake, and he almost ruined the company as a whole.
He doesn't deserve the respect towards his ideas for this game one bit.
Single player games though?
I fucking love that guy.
XIV failed, embarrassed SE, and disappointed players everywhere. Good riddance. I don't care what he did on other games since what he did here was not good.

You probably should care. Without him, Final Fantasy as we know it would be extremely different (if it existed at all), given he worked in game design on Final Fantasy I, II, and III.
That doesn't mean he didn't blow it on XIV 1.0 though; there's a crapload of reasons behind it, but when you're sitting as Producer (like Yoshida now is), you shoulder both the cheer and the blame.

Awful lot of twisted and terrible hate here.
