This is great but now I am kicking myself for being on a NA server. The reason I did this was because I had friends there and I figured latency would be the same since the EU servers were in the same place anyway.
I could move but the ridiculous restrictions in place are well...ridiculous. I am not prepared to throw most of my gil away or mess about buying things to sell on the other server, potentially losing most of it anyway. Only being allowed to take 2 million gil is not enough!

The EU datacentre might either be in Germany or England. Germany seems like the better choice though.
Amsterdam. Standard landing place for high-load services in Europe. They have some good datacenters there.
Blizzard just dumped a datacenter into Australia. Like, on Australian soil.

I wonder if with this the game will come with Spanish and Italian localization too... but I doubt it or else they'll have announced it.
Now I wonder what will happen with FC's such as mine where half the members are from NA and he other half are from EU.

oh wow these are the best news i have heard since I started playing this game.
lately lag hasn't been that bad though but my sister is having a lot of lag in ST so I bet this will make it a little better for her

I think the data center is going either to Netherlands or Germany.
That'll be up to the EU players in your FC. I imagine the EU labelled worlds will be transferred en masse to the new datacenter. EU players on other servers will have to transfer. Would be a good idea I think to offer a free transfer window once the new datacenter goes live.
