Its actually like ordering a meal that does not specify whether beans are included or not, but since it has in the past included beans with the meal, you assumed that the meal would always include beans. The restaurant has now decided that including the beans free of charge were cutting the profit margins of the meal too close, and decided that placing the beans on a separate menu would be more cost efficient, so that if people wanted to just get beans, without having to get meat with it, they could get just the beans, for an individual price.
add that the beans were only placed on the table after consuming the meat, andvegetarians who could not or did not want to consume the meat were not allowed to consume the beans. they can now access it when they could not before
Although this does mean that you get less on your plate for the original meal price, it makes the beans much more accessible, and appeals to the vegetarians that were used to having to buy the meat, and then not consume it, just to get to the beans.
I like this restaurant logic. It makes me think of food, and as a resident "fat man gamer" I like food.
