This. SE stated it will only be on the calamity salvager if you've done the event and have the achievement (this is what flags the CS to sell you the item.) People are reaching extremely far to try to support the "ripping content out of the game" argument.
The funny thing? You wouldn't have to start a new character - SE can tell the game to remove the items from our file quite easily, just like they just as easily edited out our gil if you came over as a legacy/1.0.

LOL That's EXACTLY what people are talking about when they say the event seller is gone. The Calamity Salveger is to pick up gear you've lost or discarded. The event shop was to pick up gear from the old events that you might have missed. They were doing that up until this event. They only stopped because of the inclusion of the cash shop.
Once again: They did it so people who didn't play 1.0 can get the items. The event items were from 1.0, it was never a permanent practice because even in 1.0 you couldn't get the swimsuits during the yukata festival.LOL That's EXACTLY what people are talking about when they say the event seller is gone. However during the summer event you could buy the gear from last year. Last year was not 1.0.
Which, once again:
It was the first event on relaunch. It's not that hard to realize it was done for that specific reason. They did it so people who didn't play 1.0 can get the items. The event items were from 1.0

Actually, he is right in that there were two moonfire flaires since ARR relaunched. However, you are also correct that the two are quite different, in that one was focused on swimsuits and one was focused on yukatas.
Yep, and the NPC only sold the previous items to let those who didn't play 1.0 get it since they chose not to go with the "We'll look into adding recipes for these items" approach they mentioned back before the servers went offline.
Before you edited all that info in it made perfect sense.
This is not an objective fact, you don't run the company, you don't pay the bills there. This is "your opinion"
You seem to forget that companies tend to want to make money, and being "just enough" isn't going to be good enough. If there isn't a profit, companies wouldn't do it
