Except nobody is saying it's a masterpiece and insulting those that don't mind a cash shop is really effective at getting us to come over to your way of thinking.

GET RID OF THE CASH SHOP.
Huh, so we can already see the BS the cash shop is bringing. Every primal got a mount drop, but Odin's was thrown into the cash shop. We got Thancred and Minfillia minions for events, but oh the rest? They are going into the cash shop. THIS is the major negative of the cash shop. Content which should have been in the game originally is now tagged with a IRL price cause people are easily parted with their money.
So why are we paying a subscription?
I tried being reasonable with this whole "argument" but everyone on pro-cash shop side literally has 0 argument for their cause other than 'I want to throw money at SE'. It's like, have you seen that movie Monty Python and the Holy Grail? Remember the Black Knight? That's this.
Also I don't intend to keep playing, I'll likely play once a month per patch to catch the story (which they haven't completely screwed up yet though it's certainly heading that way) but if things get even worse I'll just unsubscribe completely. Thanks for asking!![]()
Every subscription game's cash shop inspires this fight. Blizzard has multi page threads whenever something new is added to their store.
I like the idea of a cash shop with stuff that was never in game. I'm a bit put-off by having the old seasonal stuff in there, given they had made the past items available for gil in the past. Slepnir? Fine and dandy. The pumpkin heads from last halloween? kinda iffy for me.
I don't want to throw money at anyone, but this just doesn't piss me off. I don't get the outrage over it. Optional vanity items aren't game changing things and if the store is done right, it can be completely ignored.I tried being reasonable with this whole "argument" but everyone on pro-cash shop side literally has 0 argument for their cause other than 'I want to throw money at SE'. You're welcome! If you don't like something, you shouldn't pay for it. I finally realized that I was only playing WoW because of sunk cost, so I stopped. Also I don't intend to keep playing, I'll likely play once a month per patch to catch the story (which they haven't completely screwed up yet though it's certainly heading that way) but if things get even worse I'll just unsubscribe completely. Because a few mounts and minions on itself isn't the sole reason you're currently paying a subscription? SE employees too like to get paid at the end of the month? Investments into new game development have to be made? Server maintenance has to be covered? You know, just the basic essentials for any viable company to stay afloat?
It's very clear no one can really convince pro cash shop people. They've made their minds already about how cool and morally superior of them it is to support a business that's out to make even more money, oh and they love Final Fantasy too I guess, so props on that.
It's Stockholm Syndrome.
This game was already financially successful while the company itself is not. So, is this cash shop a means to make up funds lost from other projects failures within the company?Because a few mounts and minions on itself isn't the sole reason you're currently paying a subscription? Always remember the Silver Rule:
"Treat others as they treat you!" ...or something like that.
