Good. So do I. If you really can't break the bank to get a mount for a one time purchase of $19.99 (by Blizzard numbers), then save. Don't want to save? Not my problem. People just want to play the selfish card and be all: "I worked hard for this, it's mine to show off". Offer it to everyone for an optional payment (And a really minor one at that. Really.) and they flip.

It doesn't hurt anything. So long as nothing game breaking goes in there, or the stuff doesn't have a timer, why not? Everyone is free to use it. "I don't want it, just because" it really a stupid excuse.

The thing that is wrong is that there will be cash shop exclusive items. How the heck can you argue that people against a cash shop are selfish when the alternative (which you're defending) is even worse since no one even gets an opportunity to work for anything?

It's exclusive the same way the EX mounts are, you don't see people who still haven't touched an EX complaining about your content, leave theirs alone.

Except it's in the game, and their, waiting for the players to come get them. The only thing stopping them at the moment really is their own ability to kill the primals or the drop rate, which is actually being improved in 2.4.

Comparing a cash shop mount, not just any mount, freakin' Slepnir, to drops from EX Primals. Blimey.

There should not be cash shop exclusive items. Please indicate anywhere in this thread where I have said I am against anything but exclusives and the risk of potential content becoming an exclusive item.
If Extreme mounts were to become a cash shop item whilst also being available their current way I would have no issue.

Please stop trying to slander me as someone who wants to lord the fact that I can beat content over others, I am not.

search engines is your friend. these items are included in the games data, and so by definition: they are "content" despite the fact they are barred by requiring money to experience.

though i don't see the point of this entire thread. if it was a philosophical debate about the practicality of cash shops from a business standpoint, it would be different. but this is the internet, not a college business course.

and yes, this is a shameless cash grab. but no, i don't see anything wrong with it as long as it doesn't turn into a giant coin-operated "i win" button.

Agreed, not many people wanted cash shops. Maybe ease up on RNG drops for crafts/ gathering.What really got my attention was how we could buy the other scion minions. Its kinda obvious that they were developed for the anniversary event.

Sleipnir would've probably be a rare drop fro Odin EX. Makes me think the new dyes will probably be in the cash shops.

Someone please explain to me what meaningful difference can be said to exist between any of the following for purposes of "S-E is selling purely cosmetic stuff to make money and that is bad because of Reasons":

1.) Adding an ingame minion code to a $50 soundtrack.
2.) Giving the moogle costume to people who spend $20 on the Fanfest premium stream.
3.) Straight-up selling a minion for $5.

there isn't. people are complaining about it because its a cash shop in a p2p model and they assume that its set in stone that no p2p model is allowed to have a cash shop.

if i were in yoshi-p's shoes, i would give this the okay as well. there is money to be made in a non p2w additional content shop filled with cool stuff.
