I see most everyone raising the point that why do those of us who've cleared it really care if its nerfed since we won't even be doing it anymore. That it shouldn't take away from the accomplishment that we have achieved, and while that's a very fair point, its just not true to some. Should they just hand out Super Bowl rings to everyone? Maybe "Billy Joe" doesn't have time to practice as much as the rest of us, but he shouldn't be left out right? Its this mindset nowadays that hard work and practice and dedication to something means nothing because every kid in little league gets a trophy for participation. I have a daughter, and she played baseball this year, and she got a trophy even though her team came in 4th and it frustrated me. It not about looming over other people and looking down on them. Its just that we put in the work, and were able to accomplish something that very few have.

I'm not trying to be rude but don't you think it's harsh to even be frustrated that your daughter got something for the effort she put in at all? That trophy you're talking about could just be her motive to get better and reach a higher place next year.

Edit: Also... I don't think your daughter is even remotely related to coil changes despite what I wrote above, this is a video game and what you speak of is real life. A game is for enjoyment and to get away from real life, yeah you can feel a sense of achievement from content clear but... that doesn't mean others should be asked to meet your standards of performance to clear the same content that will be old, not thought of, and still made butt easy for some due to gear upgrades by spring 2015.

We all already get enough of our own stress irl from multiple things, last thing we need is the stress of meeting some other standard in a video game that we all just about equally pay with hard earned money for in exchange for gameplay we can enjoy. (This includes those who haven't beaten T6-9.)

I never said anything that I was frustrated with my daughter. I didn't bash her and of course I praised her. I'm frustrated with the system. All the kids get trophies for participating, and I'm against this train of thought. It should teach kids that if they didn't get a trophy, and they are upset about it and really want one, then they need to work hard and practice and get better.

Did that say at or with her? No, you're frustrated that she was rewarded for effort and good sportsmanship. When people lose something they put a lot of effort into they are generally already let down by it at least a little, the last thing anyone needs is for someone else to be frustrated on the side when they didn't even do half as much during the event. So please, I'm sure you didn't bash her but there's no point in being frustrated. There's other ways to motivate people to work hard instead of being furious about a reward for having fun and putting effort into something considering no one is forced to give that much into anything.

Anyways, obviously you're with a totally different opinion and will stand by it, I respect that. But know as someone else said, this game doesn't run on just one crowd or the other.

It runs on both so if one crowd that is even remotely big enough to hurt the population of the game is being pushed to leave then SE will probably take action regardless of what either of us say and this goes for either crowds.

Edit: All in all, shes your child and in the end of the day it's how you choose to raise her so whatever. I'm going to make this my last post regardless of what is said to it because I want to enjoy the halloween event then go to bed so happy saints wake everyone and good night. <3

You need a children-psychology book. Really...

(Hard work and effort are also an achievement that should be rewarded, not just being on the winning team)

LOL you think awarding children for every non-achievement is good for their mental/psychological health? Well, you're allowed to think that, if you want, but don't act like you KNOW what's best.

I'm with Garotte14 on this one. The self-esteem movement was a tremendous failure, the way I see it; it breeds complacency and self-entitlement.
I'm of the belief that people should either accept their limits, or shatter them. You don't pretend they don't exist. Or do you think denial is healthy?

So we should go back to the bad old days of destroying children's psyches by calling them "losers" if they dare to not win in a game? That mentality makes the perfect case for parenting licenses.

Or, how about saying something more along the lines of "That was pretty good, but you can probably do better."
It's not as delusional as "OMG 6th place you are the best!", nor is it as damaging as "You are a worthless loser."
Not everything has to be black and white.

Actually; there are many modern theories that the self-esteem movement actually did the opposite of what you describe. Around their early to mid teens, the younger generation began to understand that the praise they were given was meaningless, and thus made them unable to distinguish what contributions they were making to their environment were meaningful or not.

This, coupled with being raised into a failing economy, destroyed their self-esteem and thus their motivation to do much, lacking both a sense of worth in their work both psychologically (through comprehensible esteem feedback,) and materially (through the majority of modern wage labor being literally incapable of meeting the US' own bare minimum fair rent requirements.)
