Game developers work in teams. I know this is a new and exciting concept, but that is how it works. People doing dungeons are different from people making armor, who are different from people writing the story. More money into the game means more content. More content means more players.

All items except for one shown in live letter already exist in game, right? O.o Halloween costumes, fantasias?

Future minions or costumes will sometimes go to cash shop rather than in-game stuff. But really, where are they gonna put the inevitable Aeris dress in XIV's content?

We're not goin' to Midgar. o_O It'd be out of place in Coil. Cash shop seems fine.

And who knows, maybe it'll prevent too many people from dressing up like Sephiroth. That's a plus o.o

I've already witnessed several MMOs doing this over the last couple years and even helped develop one. It always went the same way. At first they just offer some conveniences and things newer players may have missed (already a mistake because you're disrespecting your early adopters) but then they realize they can basically print money by making more stuff for the cash shop. Eventually you find yourself standing around in town with your friends looking awesome instead of together in a dungeon or some other bit of content.

That's assuming that the majority of the items will be cash shop EXCLUSIVE. Not simply past items that newer subscribers would have no chance of obtaining otherwise. Again, people need to chill out. Way too early to start panicking.

All of this is wrong and is not even an opinion.

The game is not 100% available to us if there things we cannot get without the cash shop obviously.
This is a game before it is a business because without the game they would have no business, you cannot have one without the other. and proof of that is the fact that people have left and will leave still because of this AND that the game survives on the subscription model that it has been. It it was failing then it would go f2p with a cash shop. But adding a cash shop while still charging a monthly sub is blatantly trying to milk us for as much money as possible.

They are not struggling, they are greedy.

Not everyone plays the same as you and only care about the necessities of being able to progress through the game. Some people play for everything but raiding and dungeons. Some people play to collect minions and mounts and do nothing but craft and make furnishing and work the market boards.

You say the game is 100% accessible to everyone but it's really just all YOU need/care about.

The subscription fee only pays for the basics then. I'm not ok with that
