Ah, everyone who has posted in this thread with concerns - never fear! Elkwood has figured out that "we suck" and that is why we feel cheated and lied to.

What a brilliant assessment of the situation. I am guessing that anyone who was brand new picking up the game - they wouldn't "suck" at all, and so they would TOTALLY LOVE the game the way it is.

And to be honest I've trying the alternative ways of getting SP and I haven't done too bad. One quest I did gave me 19k for completion. As I've said, I don't 100% agree with all changes SE makes, but I'm also not gonna complain about the first of three patches that will complete the balancing.

That's the thing though. The best we can do now is settle and make due with whatever their rational is. That's a terrible way to bring back the game to competitive standards.

Many of the people defending this patch don't realize that a new player will have a terrible time in the game. If you think SE is gonna keep this free to play forever you have another thing coming. If after the PS3 release the game fails to retain population it will be most likely done.

At that time I will look at the overall balancing and final outcome and make my decision... everyone's wanting this to be the bloody building, but at the moment we have only laid the foundation for the walls to go up.

You can stop playing until 1.19 if you like, that is totally your decision. I've played since alpha and been though worse in this game so it doesn't bother me that much. I'd rather chug though, experiment and keep on trying then just quit or not play because they do one thing that I don't like. If I did that I would have stopped playing before release and I wouldn't have gotten to see any of the good changes they made to the game. I wouldn't have all the friends I have. I wouldn't be in a very nice shell like I am.

You can make up your own mind on what you wish to do, it might be that you'll never enjoy the game. It might be 1.19 will change it to the point that you are happy again. I can't make these decisions for you, and I don't try and speak for a whole community. I am saying how I feel and what I will do, you have to decide on your own.

You have TONS of more Sidequests, New things to explore, Two dungeons, the Grand Companies of Eorzea, they killed Fatigue and did other cool things and you still can't do anything fun in the game?

You know, that's why I try to come in this forum as few times as possible. Stop crying for SPs, Take a slow chore, Adapt to the new system and Enjoy what you have, which is really awesome!
If you don't see the fun, then waiting for 1.19 is useless.

Ah, yet my experience has been the same as several others, so he was implying that we all suck. But thanks for being childish and continuing the litany of personal insults which is all that people who are blindly defending this patch have to offer. I mean, it really enhances the tone of conversation.

No it doesn't. It encourages the player to do group grinding... quests and story quests are a one time thing. You get em done on one class and BOOM no more of that.
So when you want to rank up a second class all you have left is group grinding because it blows behest and leves out of the water like leves used to do to group grinding.

All that's been done is they turned the game on its head. Instead of one, you do the other... only this time it's the more boring one.

You continue to deny the evidence. You do levequests and behests when you're alone and don't feel like finding a party. Have a party? You can still do levequests (with a full party the bonuses are very good), do group grinding or dungeons (forgot about those didn't you? too bad), and in the meanwhile you can do quests and story quests, with new quests being implemented with every patch, providing a costant stream of new SP sources even for those that already did the previous ones.

That's called variation, no matter of you try to illogically deny it.

You obviously refuse to try variating your experience, and that puts the problem on your end. In addition to this, you continue to repeat that you have to pause between killing mobs, which does, unfortunately, place a serious doubt on your ability to control your mana flow and use the skills you're given.

Also, you simply lack experience. You do not KNOW how the leveling curve was or is now. That's undeniable. You're too low level to judge.

Wat you fail to release is that by when the PS3 version will be out, there'll be a completely new tutorial. That's already been announced.

Also, what you always fail to realize is that people like us that already have level 50s, continue to restart from level 1 with new classes. Your argument is completely void.
