    What is with that insulting?

Where I am from, you do not pay interest on credit card bills. Just instead of directly subtracting it from the bank account, it gets subtracted at a set date, all of what you bought with the CC.
So while you "loan" money from the CC company, you pay a fee each quartal to them for offering this service including payment security.

In Europe, at least German speaking europe. It is not free of charge. Granted you get it "cheaper" when your bank has a contract with the CC company. But you still pay a quarterly fee.

Debit Cards, I think I recently saw Prepaid ones at T-Mobile. Not sure if I saw this in Belgium, germany or austria though.
