Still doesn't change the fact that OP really should have, at this point in his/her life a debit card. I literally have never met someone over the age of 16 without one.Actually that was/is in SE's control, they CHOSE to remove it after the Ultimate Game Card was cancelled.they did not have to remove it before they had a better solution, they chose to. UltimatePay/Playspan is still there, and they still accept other means of payment including Paypal and that Paysafe card in many countries.
if you are going to respond please atleast get your facts straight.

fun fact: not all banks offer debit visa or debit mastercard, even in todays world. the OP probably has a debit card just not one usable as a credit card
do note though some people don't want a debit card that can be used as a credit card because they don't trust them(this could be the case of the OP) and believe it or not most banks still offer non cc debit cards if you ask for them.

I did a little checking on this because this seems weird to me. But apparently you are right. It's a culture thing. In the UK there are 90+Million Debit cards, which is about 50% more than our total population. Well over 99% are Visa Debit, Amex or Mastercard which are accepted more or less universally. There are similar rates in Northern Europe, Ex-British colonies like Australia and New Zealand and Japan. In the rest of Europe its lower and in America lower still (though credit card usage is higher).
In that case, I can only suggest getting an account that comes with a debit card (preferably Visa Debit). Not just for FFXIV but for life in general. It makes life online a whole lot more convenient and safer.

What a small world you lived in...
Not everyone enjoy the luxury of credit card. My principal is pay up front, no loans.
And if you're not smart enough, CC are one form of loans.
Also, Debit cards are not forms of Credit Cards, so they agree with your principal entirely. For online transactions it's the same as directly making a bank transfer. It's cheaper than buying physical time cards because no travel expenses are incurred.
And see my above post. In my country, the number of debit cards in circulation is 50% higher than the actual population. When I say everyone, I mean everyone.

What is with that insulting?
Where I am from, you do not pay interest on credit card bills. Just instead of directly subtracting it from the bank account, it gets subtracted at a set date, all of what you bought with the CC.
So while you "loan" money from the CC company, you pay a fee each quartal to them for offering this service including payment security.
In Europe, at least German speaking europe. It is not free of charge. Granted you get it "cheaper" when your bank has a contract with the CC company. But you still pay a quarterly fee.
Debit Cards, I think I recently saw Prepaid ones at T-Mobile. Not sure if I saw this in Belgium, germany or austria though.

In the UK, Credit Cards are free, and you can set up your payments so that you always pay the full amount outstanding and never have to pay interest. Bank accounts themselves traditionally were free, but more and more have a monthly cost (£3-10 or so) that is waived if a certain amount goes in per month (£500+ is typical). In Europe, at least German speaking europe. My own costs £6 per month, but that's at staff rate and comes with breakdown cover, holiday insurance and mobile phone insurance for free.

And thus my 1st statement still stands. Other countries have their own monetary regulations.
err... sweetie, every service you use will require a fee. Even your ATM card also has monthly fee. You should know that if you periodically check your bank statements., or at least ask their customer service. What is with that insulting?

And err... your got offended, but you last statement kinda clarifies what I said on my last statement, which you quoted. And there are always interests, but it wasn't gonna be that subtle. Need a good financial background to understand that. lol

The only charges I ever see happen on my debit card for using it is if I overdraw(don't do that), if I buy from a business outside of my country, and if I go to an ATM that isn't owned by the bank. I've never had a debit card with a monthly fee. And yes, I do check my account almost daily to see if something silly happened (once had my debit card skimmed, so maybe a bit paranoid.)
