The only people that wants to promote this are the run/clear sellers. Now you have a captive audience to milk. This is a terrible thing to do. Not to mention if SE does this, why would any new players want to play the game?

This is an MMO. People should look to build community and help others. And it take time for people to learn. But not giving them the opportunity to learn, that makes no sense at all.

What's stopping a new player from making their own learning/kill group? There will always be people who want to help new people. A check book to filter people who haven't cleared is not gonna change that.

That doesn't even make any sense. This suggestion is for people who want to put together reliable farm parties without having to look up everyone's lodestone. Clear sellers wouldn't care at all if you could check that box or not. Most clear sellers don't even want you joining the fight so you don't mpk other people placing divebombs/twisters/whatever in the wrong place.

And nobody's forcing all parties to check for the win, there's still plenty of learning parties for things that people make or that you yourself could make.

That mentality of yours is totally missing the forest for the trees. The clear sellers are probably the ones promoting this idea. Once new people can't get lucky sneak in with a experienced folks, guess who will come to the rescue for a price? And guess who else also likes this? The RMT Gil sellers will also like this because now their is a demand for their ill-gotten gil. Not only is this bad for new players, it is bad for the game overall.

What is wrong with new people? They they get ebola or something? Why not help them learn and if you are lucky you can carry them. Welcome new people with open arms and have a good time helping them. And in doing so you help build the community and help the game. Stop with the mentality of rushing thru content and everyone else is just a speed bump for you between straight line between points A and B.

His point is that why should the 7 people who are trying to farm or clear for the week be obligated to help the new player? They learned it through practice parties and time investment. Why can't the new dude do the same? It's easy to make or join a learning or progress party for that sole purpose. I find it pretty inconsiderate to join a clear or farm party just to make yourself look bad by dying and claiming you supposedly reached near the end of the fight when you clearly didn't based on poor performance.

If they wanna help, then they'll help the new player. New players shouldn't just join a group assuming they can be carried willingly by everyone.

The new guy is learning it with the other 7. Why not help the new guy learn? The party finder is like forming a pick-up game. You will get different skill and experience level. The 7 is short on people that is why it they are using the PF. They just want ignore the value of the new guy being there and filling out their roster so they can game on and not be stuck waiting. If the 7 are so good, then tell the new guy to stand the corner and let the 7 carry him if it is faster to so. But the 7 can NOT reasonablely demand that they have their party filled with people they want when they want it without forming a static of people they know.

And there is nothing to stop them from trying it once with the new guy and then removing the new guy from the party if the new guy can't handle it. Sure beats waiting and doing nothing right? It is a win win for all involved to be inclusive.

You're missing the point entirely. It has nothing to do with not wanting to show the specific player how to do the fight. When it is a farm or weekly SCOB T6-9 clear party, however, most players just want to get it done and move on with their life and time. They don't want to wipe for several hours when 7 of them have already cleared. If you want to be carried, go pay gil to the Run Sellers.

There is a reason why learning or progress parties exist in Party Finder - for these new players to join them instead. My static or the SCOB pugs I have joined, for example, simply remove the nuisance from the group if they see the free 100 Mythology message without question.

If veteran players want to help the new guy, then will do so at their own accord. Again, you cannot simply join a group to be carried or assume they'll be cool wiping for hours with you to learn the fight when it was originally stated as a weekly clear or farm party.

Again you talk as if the kick option doesn't exist.

Look at some point people will need to try the clear party and move on out of the learning party. This will happen. Who is to say who gets to decide when they are ready. There are plenty of folks here with ideas that they are somehow much better than they really are. They will set the clear requirement checkbox without themselves ever having cleared. It is the same people that think they can clear with a farm group and 1-shot and then rage quit when they don't. Some think they know the fight because they watched the videos and is completely unable to adapt to what a group is used to do. All this happens.

And that is what this clear condition filter will do. Thanks for proving the point. And you know what else will happen, you will get all these people that bought their clears, and don't know what to do, joining your party and it will be even harder to determine if they got the experience or skill to do it. And you will be helping the RMT sellers along the way, while making it worse for new players to want to get into the game at all. You people really need to look at the big picture instead of fixating on the small problem of having to remove that new person if they don't work well in your PF.

Sure you can do that, but you get to wait in exchange. I'd rather bet on the new guy and try for a wipe or two, than being stuck waiting. Having something to do and helping the new guy at the same time is a win-win situation. And if the new guy gets a clear all the better. The problem is mentality and attitude. You think new people are like lepers or something, and you want a system to exclude them. Look at the glass as half full instead of half empty for change.

What part aren't you comprehending? If I want a farm only group, I do not want to have to teach someone the fight and wipe over and over just cause someone else wants to learn the fight. That's what learning parties are for, not farming parties.

Learning to farm is also learning. I've seen farming parties wipe over and over with people that all cleared and did not get the "100 myth" bonus message. I've also seen people 1-shot T5 with a "new guy" (not really new after they've been trying for weeks) and got the new guy a clear.

The "clear" indicator is not a clear indicator for whether your party will wipe or not during a farm party session. You are not comprehending that reality is as black and white as you wish it to be by saying things like "farm party". The correct attitude to take is to give everyone the benefit of the doubt and help them learn. A quick clear is nice, but that is the bonus reward. The default expectation should be multiple wipes without clears.

If you really want to farm, form your static, have it filled out, and don't expect some kind samaritan come fill out that final spot to help you get you your quick run. And usually this is a tank or healer that is supposed to magically show up and help you for next to nothing. This is really is entitlement mindset that says I am entitled to quick clear runs.

I think it is only fair the in exchange for a chance to getting someone that is experienced, you also have a chance to get someone that is learning. NO one should be entitled to have their cake and eat it too. That is not fair to anyone.
