But.. It's Free to play.. They make no money unless players buy cash shop items.. In which case.. >.> Add some Cash shop to FFXIV, nothing amazing mind you, just the little things like cosmetics.. New hair styles.. reaaally cool outfits that are not lore related. >.> Some players are spending money on a tunneler so they don't die on titan.. Shouldn't the money be going to SE for better server support?

Believe it or not Cash Shop games can be more lucrative for a business than subscription based games unless the latter is past a certain threshold.
But that's another topic.
If you want aussie servers, get more aussies playing.
