Using WTfast... that is roughly $10 a month? same price of a subscription to FFXIV _-_ should be going towards getting our own relay centers

I play on NA servers, around 280 ms ping. I don't use WTFast. I'm playing perfectly ok.

Just to put in perspective.

Europe Population: 742.5m
Australia Population: 23.13m

About equally sized areas. Europe has 32x the population of Australia. Europe does not yet have its own data centre. You may be waiting a while.

I think the whole point was the shock of receiving emails about a AU server from SE and it being for some F2P game of theirs lol...

They should just have SEA servers, the latency will be decent for everyone in the region and Australia is not significant enough to have it's own data center. Also lol at the idea of a FATE event there before the likely hundreds of other locations that would attract more players.

They should make an "AU" Server in the JP Data centers. Proxies and VPNs like "WTFast" often hurt other players and the server who aren't using them more.

As I said, not even Europe has its own servers in a reasonable location, don't get your hopes up for Australia.

they will supply a local server as soon as the demand meets their needs. obviously there are not enough customers there to meet the demand. (i dont get why EU doesnt have their own tbh)
why spend millions of dollars to create and maintain an additional server if the number of players that would be using it does not meet their standards of being lucrative.

also, it seems as if they are still a little gun shy due to 1.0. i would imagine 3.0 may change their approach to these sort of things if all goes well.
or hell, maybe upgrade the ones they already have...
