I think someone is either looking to get ripped off or more likely did their math wrong. I see in-game spam where they claim to sell 1 mil for 5 USD, and I report every single gil spammer. So that should come to like $25 USD and not $25K USD. Pricing things in gil, regardless of what it is (housing, glamours, minions, etc.) is going to be vulnerable to gil spammers one way or the other. It won't make RMT any more attractive or less attractive. People that want to violate the TOS will do so regardless what there is to buy with gil.

I don't think people are ignoring it...I think it's more like supply and demand. Housing has a demand now, but there weren't enough houses to supply that demand. Now people know the true cost, and will save up for 2.4 when more houses are supposed to be coming out.

Now this is just an assumption on my behalf, and I admit it... most will probably go for a small house if they are a single player. Though I will admit that some will go for medium or large if they have the gil or patience to wait that long.

So, when 2.4 comes out how many houses exactly will they bring out? Now you have the people who had the gil already at 2.38, but there wasn't a a good supply in place, plus more people who will have saved up and can now afford it come 2.4

Will the supply meet the demand of those who rightfully have enough gil to buy a house?

Then add in the fact that SE already admits to having technical limitations when it comes to housing because it's static, not instanced, and is taking up much more data than it should be.

Unless they fix that issue it is unclear how many houses 2.4 will even bring to the table or if it can cover the percentage of players who can or will be able to afford housing once it is released again come the next patch.

If there is a large demand, but little supply then they will be bought up quickly and devaluation won't even come into play, except in the Medium to Large houses that are 35-90 million on some servers.

Just a heads up to anyone else who has Yoshi-P's quote about housing in their signature... I just got a "FFXIV Forum Post Modification Notification" warning regarding it. The mods deemed my signature quoting Yoshi-P on housing as a forum violation, citing that any further violations could result in forum access being revoked and the temporary or permanent suspension of access to my FFXIV service account. They actually went so far as to delete my signature for me. -__-;

Apparently the mods don't want us using a quote that shines a negative light on Yoshi-P and the housing situation.

First off, slander implies that it wasn't true. His explanation was half-arsed. He said it, he never corrected it, and he should have. SE is like any other company and Yoshi is like any other person, neither like to admit when they messed up. Hopefully they at least learned that communication is good and putting your fingers in your ears and screaming "LALALALA" is bad.

Second, this isn't USGov folks. There is no 1st amendment right in the forums. These are Square's forums and they can edit/censor what they dang-well please.
