Carebear FF14

You know there are several pvp games out these days. If you are so pvp centric why are you playing a pve game? Archage just released why are you not there and be sure to get your land in the pvp danger zone.

I do not consider this a pvp game so the term carebear really doesn't fit. This is a pvp game. I remember playing daoc and using the word carebear because folks could only pvp in 2 zones. The main area and darkness falls (goodtimes when the dungeon switches to another faction)

I dont think you just want to be able to pvp against folks who mainly like pve because the pvp crowd destroys you.

Its not even the free PVP this game is lacking. Its that feel of danger, exploration and adventures (we are adventurers, aren't we?).The dungeons are just corridors. The zones are so safe, it's almost impossible to die unless you choose to. You can teleport wherever you want, and even if you run it shouldn't take you longer than 2 minutes to cross a zone. Rivalry and competition between guilds are literally non-existant. Remember the games where being in a guild still meant something? Now its nothing more than a chat channel. Don't get me wrong, I love this game. But yes, its a carebear MMO.

wPVP doesn't fit into the way factions were designed in FFXIV. The factions aren't at war. It makes sense in WoW because the game is based around the competition of two empires that the players can belong to.

My guess is that the group you describe simply wouldn't be large enough to support a whole server. Even so, as others have stated, this simply isn't a hardcore mmo.
You're also not going to get great feedback by belittling others because they don't enjoy the same things as you (Care Bears).

If you want to be killed just because you are outside of the city, and while you are still in loading screen, why just not to play L2 then?

True that. Carebear is used by gankers to describe players who wanted to get content done without being ganked by other players. It's the pvp equivalent of "casual".

No thanks. There are many other games out there to suite your addiction for pounding in faces. MANY of them.

Also we don't have registered RP servers. They're PLAYER made. They're not official.

Part of your problem is that alot of the people who agree with your point of view are also a minority in the XIV community. A loud, vocal minority but minority all the same.

I'm curious who really the minority is considering many that used to post quit the game and moved on. Many others don't post because of all the drama. Third, their is a considerable amount of Dark/White Knights that post on the forums which makes it more divided. Others are just stuck on the fence. So who is the majority? It doesn't seem the ones who post the lets kiss SE butt threads- those don't get a lot replies/views. Most of what I see falls into the highly opinion, constructive feedback, sometimes so called whining threads.

Pretty much this. Testosterone-addled meatheads use such vocabulary when they can't PK anyone at will and flaunt their e-"manhood".

I'm not an avid fan of PVP but I do enjoy it from time to time. I haven't tried the new battleground as of yet but I have dipped in with the old arena. But I couldn't get into PVP in FF14 that much. I liked it in DCUO (more so with the legends characters than with your own) and I had a fun time in Anarchy Online and WOW with PVP as well. But I can't see how PVP would fit in with the FF14 story. In most games there are opposing factions to give a backdrop for PVP...FF14 doesn't really have that.
