Part of your problem is that alot of the people who agree with your point of view are also a minority in the XIV community. A loud, vocal minority but minority all the same. People generally don't think of Final Fantasy as a series known for robust PvP. The closest previously was XI's various iterations in Ballista... and that weird island arena thing, Pankration? No, Pankration was the poke'mon thing... either way, it wasn't serious PvP. XIV's PvP isn't even serious PvP and it's better thought out than Ballista ever was. PvP just isn't a thing like in other games because, like XI, XIV wasn't built with PvP in mind. The PvP was a carefully thought out afterthought. If you wanted fierce PvP competition on overarching battlefields... you picked the wrong game. I hear Guild Wars II did that best.
