This was exactly what I expected. Everyone should get his zone with his own house. Why don\\'t they go the easy way with this. This would make personal housing special. You could invite others to your house.![]()

they did, its called personal rooms.
Mm...I don't recall gaining 80 storage spaces with it as well as a personal NPC for managing gardening, delivery sending/receiving and items. You can decorate it, but that's about it - I didn't receive any buffs or bonuses for having a certain aura in my room![]()

That's exactly what I said on another post. All they did was unlock FC to everyone for purchasing. And that's why, in retrospect, they never gave us any REAL INFO on "Personal Housing". Because there was nothing to tell us. We knew the answers because ... WE WERE ALREADY USING THE SYSTEM!!!!

Also stated something similar. I could have bought a small FC house at TWO mil! Now, that same plot is 4 mil+ ! WTF?! Thanks SE. Greatly appreciate the left overs. And waiting. And ... /smhThis. I would take even the FFXI housing over this. What we're getting couldve been done months ago with the original FC housing patch. Hell, they couldve had a phased instance on the current plots as well, but they arent are they? The only difference is that you can now buy it yourself. Seriously, wtf were we waiting for all this time? For them to say ... "ok NOW you can buy one of the houses for yourself."
They should do both.
I don't see why we should limit it to 1 way, have it both ways.
I don't want a FC room, and would not go for moghouse kind of house myself, but if some people would be content with it, then why not?
Just make apartment house in each housing area, were players can get such room.
Wouldn't be surprised to see them add something like that sooner or later.
Still would create many instanced areas, and that is what the trouble is on the moment, they can't seem to handle too many instances?
So this wouldn't solve the problems we have on the moment?

At this point they might as well have, they can clearly spawn inn room and personal room instances for everyone in the server without many if any issues. The main issue here seems to be how they handle the housing area instances so the houses themselves and the stuff in their gardens can be visible by everyone from the outside, it looks nice and server wise it might be fine for FC housing since they'll always be fewer in numbers than players per server, but lumping personal housing into the exact same system is the biggest mistake they could have made.
What they should have done and was kind of expecting was personal houses would be a small instanced and closed off block sized area for each player's house with its own garden, enclosed in its own relatively small area you'd have to access from one of those closed off gates they already have placed on the housing areas. That way you'd just zone into your house and could even walk right inside it since it'd already be just a small instanced area. They could also use the same instance space they have allocated for inns and personal rooms or even other places like the Waking Sands or Minfilia's place, since both rooms can't ever be accessed at the same time by the owner, and you can no longer see other players in your own Waking Sands instance, at least not for the latest quests that involve them.

I have it yes....
Most people do not, and don't want to be bound to a certain FC to get a home.

This exact thing happened with LOTRO's neighborhoods. There was not enough land for everyone at first, so people were pissed. But as the novelty wore off, people abandoned their houses and you ended up with loads of empty spaces. Same thing will happen here. Prices are already dropping.
It's still not an excuse to not have given us distinctive homes for individuals though.
