I said at the start of housing talks I would be happy if they maybe did an apartment building and we bought apartments in it and it would be instanced. I am disappointed though that I have been saving up and now all houses are sold. SE (Yoshi) drops the ball once again.

For me, the issue lies largely with the fact it's no different to FC housing. It's one and the same thing. It feels a tad insulting that we've waited so long for it. I wanted different zones and different housing.
It's almost like someone went 'WHOOPS personal housing was supposed to be 2.3 guys... uh... bollocks... meh just bang out the FC stuff, it'll be fine!'

False! As much as I like to debate about this, i'll throw a cookie here this time and agree that personal housing should of done something similar to Mog Houses and just expand upon it. Can open/close visitation rights. Right now, personal housing is just a FC house without the FC. Its nothing different and feels borderline pointless to me.

TBH, I don't recall anyone asking for open world player housing. Maybe FC housing? Still can't think of any posts though, off the top of my head.

Maybe not since ARR (because we knew already how housing would be since beta)
But during 1.x some players asked for a real open world housing where you can build a house anywhere you want.

I thought that what they were going to do make it somewhat like FFXI but with major upgrades. I figure you start off with the basic house and land plot and eventually upgrade the size of your house and land plot as you earn them through gil and GC seals or by another means not really tied to something else.

Yea don't waste your breath, some people do not understand that what they think was did "right" in one game is only their own personal opinion. coming from a long time of FFXI if they did built anything off the wrong decisions 11 made this game would have already been dead.

If they'd done instanced housing there'd be less of a backlash I'm sure. Better for everyone to have housing than only a handful of players per server.

The 2.4 patch is only adding what, houses for another 720 players per server? And we have how many players per server again?

Limited? Fine. People can wait until the cited server modifications take place at 2.4.

But the fact that it is not a new Personal Housing system, but that FC Housing has just been opened to individuals is bad.

Opening FC housing to individual players also kind of shits on the teamwork FCs needed (and still need) to buy their own house.
