Dungeons and ANGRY PEOPLE !

I'm very new to FF - not played anything like it before and only been playing FFXIV for a month or 2 .. I have to say theres a stark contrast between real people you meet in the open worlds who usually help each other out and are nice to eachother, and those you end up teaming up with in dungeons.

feels like I cant do a single dungeon these days without getting some sort of nasty comment or rage from people that 'seem' to have played said dungeon hundreds of times previously and know exactly what to do and where to go.

dont play important role in a dungeon is my advice (no tank or healer) and if you dont see your hate on a boss then you gotta re think if it is your gear or your rotation is bad & fix it (usually it is bad rotation)

edit: I checked your character...gear update is need. your left side is ok ok, but your right side....are you lazy ? Now I can understand why ppl rage and angry at you

Wait until you get to Crystal Tower, or any of the other post-end game dungeons or primals. You'd think these places would have less jerks in them now that tomes are easy to get without ever entering them. But no...

Read what they said. They're mentioning gear, if you look at where your gear is equipped, it has a left and right side, right?

And the lazy comment is that many people don't attempt to keep their gear somewhat up to date as they level, and that just hurts the people you play with.

my gear as in my clothes ? as I get new stuff I always try to change to the more powerful higher ranked stuff.. Ive even tried to buy better stuff - but there never seems to be anything over a certain level available to me. as for right / left... that makes no sense . you mean if my shirt shows on the right or left column of my character picture ? I didn't know you could change that - or that it would matter. ? or are you taking about what side I use my weapon on ? again - had no idea I could change this .

Left hand side is your clothes and weapon. Right hand side is your jewellery and off-hand / shield.

He's talking about your character equipment window. To the left side, you have your weapon and armor, to the right side are the off hand and accessories.

This is your character on lodes, as you can see your clothes & weapon are ok, but on the jewel/accesorry, neck & wrist are missing, 1 spirit bound ring, earring and the other ring is to low. Your jewel help absolute nothing, but only slow it down for the other. They need some love as well, upgrade them !

ahhh ... so ... my thinking in this ... obviously wrong. but initially when I was stepping up my clothing as I got better defensive or magic defence - I noticed the jewelry was often very low ... or nothing.. so I just assumed it was for show .? but now I see a whole load of 'bonuses' so now I know I can take a look at that.

when you open character information, the left side are Armor/clothes & weapon, and the right side are jewel. When do a dungeon, ppl usually expect other ppl to upgrade their gear up to date, that mean if you running a lvl lets say 45 dungeon, so the gear ilvl have to be close to 45 or over, if the gear is way to low like ilvl 35 in a lvl 45 dungeon, your stats will be low and it will take a bit longer to kill mobs, boss and make the dungeon run longer.

In that mind set, ppl who doesnt have their gear up to date are usualy lazy or looking for a carry or dont care, and of course ppl will not like those kind of player

ps: this happen often at low lvl dungeon where new player lvl up and forget to upgrade their equip/gear. At higher lvl dungeon ppl will not bother much if your gear is ilvl 90 while their are ilvl 110

edit: while we are at it, I believe BRD can have cross skill from LNC/DRG, you need to get it to vl 15 as well, not just PGL. You are in a FC with a lot of lvl 50 character, it is a good idea to ask them for guideline before do something (it is a bonus, take it or not is up to you)
