    OP, you are on point. When does SE stop to give us the "new player" argument? Every subject that is about depth, be it job or content, we get the new player argument.

    I hope 3.0 is their last new player addition. Then it's time for some depth. I bet new players would not mind depth in their jobs and what better way to learn them right off the bat?

    Assuming the class would learn monster skills. Not impossible, but I wouldn't expect to see anything remotely close to that until an expansion entirely centered on a wilderlands-type continent. Think Hydaelin's version of Africa or the Australian outback.

    Depends. My hope is people will eventually realize that particular concept needs to be adjusted while keeping the core aspects of the job intact. Marta, Swords, Ramsey and myself have all taken whacks at it to provide something that would work while preventing that thing from FFXI from repeating itself. But we're getting off topic.

    * The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.
