Provoke is the only absolutely necessary cross class as there are fights with tank switch mechanics that would be close to impossible without it. It's a complete newbie trap to not give warriors their own taunt.

Tank swap without provoke ... MT Turns around turns off oath/defiance, OT hate combos to take hate. MT becomes OT.
There is a way around everything . OT should be 2nd hate by the timing of hate swap. Obviously provoke is much more simple to do. But it's not 100% necessary.
