    Please reconsider phase changes that heavily disadvantage players

    Too many fights in the game now put the advantage against the players if they push phases at inopportune times. Please reconsider this mechanic for the following reasons:

    1. It forces players to relearn fights that they already may have mastered. No two groups will push phases at the same time. You have to re calibrate (beyond reason) every time you enter a fight with new people, even though they all may have already mastered the fight with other comrades.

    2. Players don't like being punished for DPSing too fast. Fights get easier when you have better DPS. This is the holy grail of raiding theory since the inception of MMORPGs.

    3. It forces players to learn an encounter to a degree that is just ridiculous. I'm sorry, but you shouldn't have to learn that pushing a boss from X% to Y% before he uses Z ability causes a wipe.

    4. Learning how to phase push properly is fight dependent, and serves no added depth to the combat system in general. Players like to feel that their ability to work the combat system in their advantage grows as they spend more and more hours defeating bosses. Spending time learning how to phase push for one fight becomes obsolete as soon as the fight becomes obsolete.

    Please reconsider this mechanic for future encounters.

    I don't know if they can really fix it, this is a consequence of their hard-scripted fights and changing all monsters combat script would most likely take a lot of effort.

    If anything I'd expect them to put ilvl sync with 3.0 so people can't overgear for old content.

    If you are doing that good and pushing phases faster, I have faith that you can relearn rather quickly. Im assuming you are talking t7 in which case you really only need to wait for a smigde. Either way, its not difficult.

    I'm not suggesting going back and reworking old fights but not having these mechanics in future fights.

    It's not just turn 7. Turn 6 you can't push Rafflesia until she eats the honey again. In Ramuh you can't push phases until he thundershocks again. In Ifrit, you can't push last phase until all the nails are dead (though this mechanic is obvious -- the consequence shouldn't be a raid wipe.)

    Ifrit is the only real bad one IMO since it's a compete unavoidable wipe and with how geared people are now combined with the echo it's possible that just your tank attacking him is enough damage to make him enrage. They should just make him invincible while nails are up or something since it will only get worse.

    Why should aquiring better gear punish people instead of take some ease off the fight? I don't see why getting better gear reward brings nothing to a fight except having to be even MORE careful then to begin with. Ah...FFXIV, the only game that punishes players for improving their gear.

    The problem isn't paying attention and dodging things, the problem is being punished for doing something to well.
