Mine would also be from FFXI:
Most of them are little things, like with it being my first MMO, even just walking through towns and thinking "Wow, all of these characters are REAL PEOPLE" it just blew my mind.

I also enjoyed other little touches from XI before it got heavily nerfed later on, such as monsters not only relentlessly chasing players across an entire zone, but also remaining next to the Zone even if it was a town until someone took care of it. I used to always see actual players standing guard in front of the three main towns to protect newbies from this. It was just so cool to me.

I miss Earth and Beyond. It only lived for a short time, but it was fantastic and had such amazing atmosphere. Finding the hidden disco ballroom in one of the space stations is one of my best memories ever. That game also had an awesome crafting system. It was also fun being a galactic tour guide - the game had 3 different levels for each character (Exploration, Combat, Trading), so low-level characters would hire higher level characters to escort them through sectors in order to get their exploration XP.

I miss Lineage II for the amazing variety it had back when I played it. I couldn't really stand the totally open PvP, though I did participate in it, but the open-world dungeons and bosses were a lot of fun. Castle sieges, too.. it was fun to be part of an alliance that owned a castle. The first time a dwarf in your party summons a siege golem and you watch it lumber toward the castle wall...

I miss LotRO for the way it facilitated RP through its tons of systems. Titles, an amazing vanity system, musical instruments that you could actually play (they even had a music file format you could program songs into, then get your friends together and sync up your instruments to play those files in game), an awesome housing system. I also loved the way the story unfolded, as well as the dynamic Skirmish missions. There was just so much about that game.

I miss Warhammer Online for its AMAZING "Public Quests." They were a lot like FATES are in this, but they had objectives and multiple 'stages' to complete them. I remember the first time I was involved in one, I was with a bunch of random people defending a house from multiple waves of the enemy, when sudden a giant troll came bursting through the trees, knocking several over as it did, and suddenly we had to fight it as well as the rest of the bad guys. Rewards for the PQs had a neat system to it.

Really, though, I miss games where choices such as race and class actually mattered and where characters weren't just carbon copies of each other, statistically speaking.

Hmm.. there are a few MMO's I have played over the years, all of which I enjoyed.

    Ragnarok Online [Loki]
Hanging out with people in South Pront, having a few heal slaves for my huntress, good old DB parties and abusing a Sage's Hocus Pocus on poring's hoping to get Class Change so that it became an MVP that attacked people.

Unfortunately I left the game when my account got cleaned out by someone whom I assumed was a friend.

    Everquest II
This game I only played for a brief time but I did enjoy playing dark elf, the NPC's of the city were amazing, the way they set up the classes and leveling etc were challenging.

    Guild Wars
I thoroughly enjoyed playing this game, especially ranger/warrior - which I found worked rather well and crafting the really pretty gear also. And an assassin in PvP was so much fun.

Remember when people would try to zone half of the crawlers nest and you had to call in reinforcements from Jueno to clear the zone entrance

While annoying once in awhile, it made the world feel real.

XI was most definitely a game that felt rewarding when you accomplished something. Namely on the long-term scale.
I absolutely agree with this statement 100 %!

Aww, man. I can't believe I forgot about that. I remember hugging that goddamn landing pad because I was terrified if I looked at a mob the wrong way it would proceed to pound me into the ground (and I was a DRK then, so that's exactly what would've happened.

And those were Decent Challenge mobs (a couple of levels below my own for those non-XI players). I can't imagine even caring if a single leevl 48 mob was hitting me in this game. Even if I took no action, it would take several minutes to kill me in this game.

Moral of the story: MMOs need to terrorize their playerbase more. It's good for them.

Also, hurrying along behind the rest of your LS as they charge through sky, praying not to get left behind, praying the sneak oil holds up till you get to the next zone line...

FFXI for me - Although it wasn't my first 75 job, the road to achieving 75 on Beastmaster was the most fun I ever had! The chance that you would link, the super luck of dissolving a four link attack, by charming, using that "Tame" on the other, then running around until charm was ready, charming that third aggro mob to attack the fourth one! lol it was so darn fun.

The drama that game produces, is what made it so darn fun for me.

Before Beastmaster was Killing Kirin For the "First Time" 3 hour long epic battle, and being complimented on my damage as a Taru-taru ranger lol. I did notice I would try harder than most and it would pay off! Those were the best of times

Oh and of course ffxiv killing Ifrit the first time (never did beat Garuda in 1.0 biggest regret) again random party, and people were patient, cool, calm, collected lol just like in ffxi days of old

I really miss playing Ragnarok Online a LOT! Loved that game since it first came out and it always brings me back a lot of good memories everytime I hear the soundtrack, I still have my account and could still play but I decided that I will wait for Tree of Savior to come out instead since it looks like what Ragnarok 2 should have looked in the first place and I'm really excited to play that.
