I did, I just don't have too many fond memories of it... Outside of the epic PvP. But I digress.

To me it's really all of XI.

There's so much depth in that game that with enough clever planning you could solo content meant for a full party if you were presistent.
The question was never "what I must do?" As much as "how will I do this?" And the choises were endless.

Whenever you hit a wall there were always tons of horisontal progression for you to do.

Ah, yes. Other things I miss: Actual death penalties. Maybe not the super harsh ones like Lineage II (you lost XP and could de-level if you lost too much, and you could also drop equipment worn or items from your inventory), but definitely more severe than in modern games. Also, it baffles me that SE punishes you for being RAISED but not for respawning. That's almost backwards from every game I can remember.

E&B's system of death penalties worked for me: You got XP debt that you had to pay down. Basically it siphoned half of your XP until it was paid off, slowing your progression. It was enough to make you play smart, but not so much to be frustrating.

There was something else I was going to say here, but it's fled my mind. :/

EQ was my first MMO. Started off as a High Elf Wizard but later switched to a Wood Elf Druid. I remember Crushbone and shouts of "D'Vinn to zone!" and everybody running like hell to get out of the way or zone out. Going to the Commonlands for the first time, taking the boat, dying at one of the Orc camps, respawning in Kelethin and having to run all the way back because I didn't know about the Soul Binder.

Speaking of Kelethin...I remember falling off one of the bridges as a new Wood Elf and spending the next few hours running around naked under the city trying to find my corpse again. I also remember raiding Kael Drakkal and just getting ready to go after the Avatar of War only to have our server, Kane Bayle, crash and when we finally were able to log back on finding out that we were all dead at the zone line and having to get a GM to come and rez us all. Fun times ^_^

I'll throw out my EQ memories too.
    - Server crashing when the game went live (I was in Beta at the tail end, and NEVER had this issue), because everyone was hammering the login server.
    - Bard's speed song at lvl 5 (my favorite ability in the game. made me love the BRD class)
    - Figuring out how to run from Qeynos to Freeport (multiple deaths), then leading a HUGE group of people from Qeynos to Karana to Highhold Pass then to Freeport. That was amazing.
    - Being the salesperson for my friend's smithing business. He made the armor, I ran (speed song, yay!) around announcing the wares I had for sale. We made good money that way.
    - Dual wielding swords. That was cool.
    - Can't say I played much MMOs after that (EQ consumed WAY too much of my time initially), but that bard class remains one of my favorite.

    Other notable memories from Everquest:

1.) Waiting for the boats in Butcherblock Mountains to go to either Freeport or Firiona Vie and just how tragic it was if you missed it.

2.) The Oasis of Marr, dodging Sand Giants and running for your life if someone called out, "Lockjaw!"

3.) The total anxiety-fest that was getting from Firiona Vie to the Lake of Ill Omen, following the river and sneaking past the spider-people praying they didn't see you or your Invisibility spell wouldn't drop.

4.) Heading into the basement of Highhold Keep to join others in the fight against the goblins down there. I joined my first guild there.

5.) Heading to the Karanas, avoiding the treants and sneaking past the kobolds of Splitpaw (Fippy Darkpaw anyone?) on my way to the massive tree house with all the bird-people.

I spent a majority of my middle school days in that game. I could go on and on...

White Knight Chronicles II - I really miss that Game. Tons of different quests to play, none of them too hard for the majority of players and mainly depending on the proper gear and lesser on skills. Forgiving in its mechanics, yet unforgiving as far as RNG was involved. Lots of items with 1-5% drop chance and partially you needed tons of mats to get your gear so it was quite grind heavy. Dire windspider eggs and sacs, Flemron 108. If these items ring a bell for you, welcome to grinding Hell of Asian RPG's!

And then, not to forget, the great moment when wielding your True King weapon for the 1st time, beeing proud about it like a Father about his new born child because it took so long lol.

    - Poking snails with a wooden sword at maple island (somehow it was fun at that time)
    - Taking an airship and jr balrog spawning during flight and killing everyone on board
    - Upgrading my blue screamer +7 with 4 10% scrolls and 3 60% scrolls.
    - Kerning city party quest
    - Jumping quests in sleepywood and kerning, it was a nightmare!
    - GM spawning a fish boss in Henesys and killing everyone

    Rose online

    - I miss the bazaar type style shops in Junon
    - Duoing King Behemoth with a friend
    - The weird aggro range of some monsters
    - The job quests where you had to kill a boss with a 1% drop rate with 20 other people camping there

Haha I remember this as well! I was BST main and solo'd to cap (was 75 at the time). I was so damn proud of myself because there were maybe a handful of others who had done it on my server. The other huge accomplishment I had was soloing that doom toad thing in the cave where Million Eyes pops. It was supposed to be only soloable by RDM, but with a few jugs and charming nearly every mob in the zone, I did it! ^.^

This was honestly the best part of my childhood.
