Except that all of the people in the dungeon, event, etc. are there to achieve the same goal. They're working cooperatively, not competitively. Only a fool would knowingly withhold information from their team when attempting to reach a common end. That would be like calling a retired teacher who doesn't teach children anymore anti-social tool.
It's not their job.
So when you want to learn something new, you expect random person B to help you out? Now who was raised to be a spoiled brat and thinks the world revolves around them?
When I want to learn something, I look up the information myself. Or maybe ask a friend or family member. I don't expect a person I don't know to do it for me. And if some random person decides to help me, I'm grateful since I know he has no obligation to help me.
Why should that 1 person expect them to help him though? He is expecting them to do the job he/she couldn't be bothered with doing himself. That is the very definition of selfish.
Socialize, does not mean teach others. No one I have met started playing this game for that reason. Why play a social game with others if you're only going to care about yourself? Ah yes, that "special snowflake" attitude that parents teach nowadays..... that would explain a lot.
And Teirshin, I think you need to pick up a dictionary to learn what words mean before you spout them.
Let's see if you get this.
Example 1.
1 person asks the other 3-7-23 whatever number of people to do something for him, because he could not be bothered with it.
Example 2.
3 people expecting the last to have done something they themselves did.
Now, can you say which example has the special snowflake?
And I don't really mind helping, it's just that I mind people thinking it's some obligation of the older players to teach others.
Fine, we can say the person was a truck driver instead of a teacher. Does that make him antisocial? Or is it some rule that only applies to MMORPG?A retired teacher isnt anti-social, they worked all their life teaching. Player A didnt, and is thus an anti-social tool. The two arent even close to being simliar, so you get an F for your example.

Very easy way to test this theory. Next time a new dungeon comes out do not ask for any help. Do not run with LS/FC members or friends. Wait for the videos and tutorials to come out first, watch and review those, and then run the dungeon by yourself with no one else you know in the DF... but you can not help or tell them anything either, because they should have done what you did and should know it.
Now have a friend that you know do the opposite, run with people they know who want to help, give advice and don't mind telling them where they are going wrong.
Then we can see which way works better, who learned quicker and who beat the dungeon first. It would actually be an interesting experiment to see which way really is more efficient for online players.
But you probably won't do it, because it's wasting your time when you can just get help from friends and FC members by working together, helping one another and getting advice.
I'm just a bun boy, doing bun boy things.
Hmm, so this taken direct from Merriam-Webster Dictionary...
... isnt right?so·cial·ize verb \ˈsō-shə-ˌlīz\
: to talk to and do things with other people in a friendly way
: to teach (someone) to behave in a way that is acceptable
I'll let them know they made a mistake and you're the final word on what the word means. Not.
Keep trying, you only pass yourself off as more and more like the tools I mentioned when you try to defend your position.
So, since when is teaching someone dodging mechanics even relevant to behaving?Hmm, so this taken direct from Merriam-Webster Dictionary...

Did you even read it yourself?
Remember that a book can teach someone, robot too and various other things.
That does not mean you are socializing with a book, or a robot.
be·haved or be·hav·ing
transitive verb
1
: to manage the actions of (oneself) in a particular way
1
: to act, function, or react in a particular way
Learning to dodge is to teach someone to react in a specific way so it is behavioral.
I'm just a bun boy, doing bun boy things.
It will taper off soon enough. XIV is riding high on the tail end of a WoW xpac. Everyone is bored with Pandaria, they have done everything, and all the wings have been released. So, they are here, and scattered in some other random mmos. WoD is coming, though, and when it hits a good chunk of the playerbase (especially those who tend to be the more aggressive\mean players) will leave.
I say give it some time and report back in late December when the community has shifted again and stabilized to be more of what we remembered from XI (not that the community there was anything to brag about, but it certainly wasn't the cesspool we see in XIV today).
SE could help out by not introducing systems of exclusivity and battles that just test your internet connection instead of your knowledge of the game, but I don't see anything short of another mass exodus waking them up. So, just wait until December when all that is left are people who genuinely enjoy the game and see it as their long-term home.
So... teaching someone how and when to dodge isnt teaching them a behavior?
Keeeep digging, you're almost at rock bottom....
Very scary to read replies here.. I think lore might be wrong. On paper we're warriors of light but the human element changes that so drastically. If the warrior of light can't be bothered to teach during a dungeon without breaking down then what hope is there for Eorzea..? ;;
i see people saying ... game is same as real life ..... come on ... if that true so i totaly want to apply as teacher and tell the student : "HEY lazy people! your wasting my time teaching you stuff when there is plenty of guide at library and video on youtube to learn it ..come back to school when you already know the stuff cos i dont like giving advice for exam"
but me im not those people since im teaching my wife french ...even thought there is Guide and youtube video everywhere lollllll
So for me i did saw video of garuda xtreme ... and no not help ... i saw about the spiny feather to be a shield ...but that took 5sec to write ... kill the spiny feather right before garuda disapear ...easy to write no?
