I would love to see DOH/DOL get their own, separate quests and storylines and stuff but... I have serious doubts of any dev team, not just this one, being able to pull off two complete kinds of games in a single package like that. They'd have to almost double the content, and we already know how agonizingly slow that's been coming.Maybe they should just make some simple starting quest for crafters, instead using those action sequences. Like you are in the middle of your last crafting lesson under some uber craftsman. And while you're at it, it would be a good place for a tutorial describing what the hell flickering lights ands standard, rapid, and bold synthesis means.
It would be less disjointed when starting out as a DoH class, at least. Not sure what would work for DoL classes, though.

So, I see a lot of changes planned, but as usual everything is focused on DoW/DoM. What about gatherers and crafters? Especially gatherers.
I mean Gatherers have two levequests. That is it. The name of the HQ item and the locations change based on your camp - but that is all. TWO LEVES. No variety whatsoever.
Not only that but it is impossible to get a full set of 8 leves at your level during a reset. That's garbage. We should be able to get at least 4 at each camp, so we have some choice in them and if we want to, only have to travel between two cities.
DoH and DoL classes are not receiving any love in these update notes. SE should take these classes OFF the character creation screen if they don't want to put any work into making them fun.
Looks as if its not going to happen sadly, but don't give up OP!, Even if it's a support class make the best of things (*and it not like it set in stone). The day will come I just know it an mmog that has everything will come ... it's just not now. Right now I do hope someday soon mmorpg FF XIV will become an enjoyable experience, be it "Gathering", "Crafting", "Magical", "Fighting", "Exploring".
If you really feel strongly about it DoL/DoH, comment about it on the forums and make a topic post that's dedicated towards it's improvement. I've seen a few good topics that are very good, if you don't know; Here are the Links "gain sp" "fishing" and mine too "botany" ... its not much but its something to start with.

I really hate how easy the mission line is. Going out to get fantastic gear in order to complete mission fights which require a group has been a hallmark of the FF franchise. This game took a complete departure from that dynamic, and I feel that it fell flat. I'm a 50 crafter also, and i do not expect to be able to finish everything on 50 armorer.
They should not allow mission fights to be completed on a crafter job. These should be difficult. If a crafter can solo a mission fight... by definition, it is not a difficult battle. It can be an interesting quest, but not difficult.
They should remove all 1 star parley's from quest lines over rank 20. 3 star would be ok for rank 30 quests and 5 star for rank 36 quests. for example, the rank 36 tanner quest involves winning not 1, 2, or 3, but 4 one star parley's. you win 1 star parleys by the second turn. the rest of the 7 turns is just relegated to maintaining your lead. The 1 star parley's are impossible to lose.
Parley is ok. It can be used to add to the game. But, failing a parley should have a detrimental effect on the fight/quest at hand. repeating until success is really lame.
If the game was thriving I could see them tossing some resources the crafters/gathers way but seeing how only like 30k people still play and a very very very very small percent of the people left want crafting/gathering as main jobs I dont see SE wasting the resources on the 500 of you who are DoH/DoL only.
I have 8 crafts at 50. All I did was watch T.V. and spam standard for easy mode synths. Enjoy leveling those crafts in 1.19 and beyond everyone!
i kinda figured they would of stoped trying to call crafting acual classes. it was either they had no time b4 launching way to early or just totally failed. if u call them classes they would of needed to be fighting like classes, i could of seen this doable with tanaka's battle system.
like 15man crab battles and gear wearing alot faster and fixing them are spells and moves rather then the way they is now, also they all have battle and fighting moves just like mele classes but use there tools, this would of been pretty awsome. they could of had there spots in parties like this, specially if u set parties to have a max of each specific class as well.
either way crafters aren't classes, they are just crafters in this game, maybe another game will finally do them right if they want to call them classes, but it was a cool concept
i'd also would of loved to be able to kill a mob and craft with mats some how at same time, lol not sure how that would work but i think that would be really fun way to craft.
