Chocobo Colouring, my progression to a Soot Black Chocobo.

From default I got to plum pruple > regal purple > abyssal blue > royal blue. Feeding it berries, pears, and apples; after regal purple I stopped giving it apples, always more berries than pears. After abyssal blue I gave it berries only then got royal blue. Today I fed it one pear to see where it ends up will report back tonight.

Managed to get it Deepwood Green from Kobold Brown, now it took 2 valfruits to get a new feathers message.. hoping I didnt overshoot it -again- and end up with -another- kobold brown or whatever x_x

Just listing the food you fed doesn't help, you also need to keep track of the feathers messages. Unless you mean that was how many messages you got from each.

This. Sorry to say, but if you tracked just the number of fruit fed instead of the number of "beginning to grow new feathers" messages, your data is most likely useless.

One path to soot black ->

Desert Yellow -> Halatali Yellow -> Mole Brown -> Rolanberry Red -> Grape Purple -> Kobold Brown -> Soot Black

While soot black is the end result, but I would highly suspect others MAY NOT reproduce it, since it was done via batch feeding and not via controlled process. Nevertheless, at least a path is discovered.

Right now I'm also at Kobold Brown from Ink Blue and fed it 2 messages worth of plums by accident, since I originally thought the guy who got his black one had 2 messages. Then I fed my chocobo an apple that'll hopefully cancel out one of the plums. I'm hoping I won't also get stuck in that Ink Blue -> Kobold Brown loop.

Edit: Unfortunately, I went back to Ink Blue...maybe it's not viable to go to Kobold Brown from Ink Blue.

Update on my Ink, Kobold, Deepwood loop.

Kobold + 1 plum = Deepwood
Deepwood + 1 valfruit = Ink
Ink + 1 pineapple = Kobold

I'm at Ink again, someone suggested 2 pineapple 1 valfruit from Ink to have a good chance of Soot. Trying that now. Someone else who's been doing math on it is trying 2 Pineapple 1 Valfruit 1 Plum from Ink.

Time to wait another 6 hours.

I got goobbue grey from ten o'ghomoro berries fed in one sitting(not over the course of messages). I would post a screen shot but I am typing this out on PS Vita. I am aiming for othard blue but am not opposed to medium dark purple shades. Mainly testing some theories for FC so I get fruit free. Will let ya know what happens. Also for note the amount of messages I got was three. One out of the gate, 5th fruit and last fruit.

Edit: Got it! 21 O'ghomoro Berries = Othard Blue.

So after feeding my royal blue bird 1 pear with feather change message after 6 hours it did not change color. So i gave it 2 more pears and tried to give it an apple as well got the feather change message on both pears but not the apple; after 6 hrs i got storm blue.

Just fed it 3 pears with feather change message and one apple with feather change, we'll see where it ends up.

After 2 feeds i got hunter green trying to get soot black and don't know how to proceed from here...i'm open to suggestions

The thing most people are confused about right now is that in this game (through fault of the developer or not) a value of Red 0, Green 0, Blue 0 isnt black, it's white.

Only coming back to this post now because I have only now had a chance to sit down and give it a good read.

I am going to continue on with the way I have been going now just to test this and see which end of the scale I end up on. I may have to reset it though as I never watched out to see how many proc messages I got. I am a little curious if this means that the fruit only effects colour if you get a proc message of if you have fed it enough to create a change in colour.
