OK, fine, Mr Debate Coach. But Bauti has no way to say with certitude that Teledji "is not a Prince." The evidence at least points to this much being true. He is styled and acknowledged by others in the city in which he lives as a Prince, therefore he is a Prince. Where we get into muddy waters is "Prince of what in relation to whom?" This may be a logical fallacy, but he lives in Ul'Dah - therefore it is highly likely that he is in the Royal line of that city even if only from a Branch Family. Kinda like the difference between House Lannister of Lannisport compares House Lannister of Casterly Rock in ASOIAF. Narratively, it makes no sense for him to be a Prince in name only and completely unrelated to the royalty in Ul'Dah.

I feel like if he were in line for the throne, this would have been mentioned in this latest storyline. There is no way he could make a move like he did, be related to the Sultana, and not have his relation to her even mentioned once.

That was my point in an earlier post, the storyline is not fleshed out as much as it could be. An example being the huge gap between the White Raven and the Black Wolf. Gaius took a HUGE backseat to the Ascians in the storyline, yes it's SE's storyline and they can do with it what they will but Nael van Darnus was much more of a badass. We fought Gaius in 1.0 with the aid of the Archons and got destroyed lol sure part of it was because he shot us with an airship but still. He had a better air, stronger air about him.

Anyways like I said we don't know how one becomes the Sultan(a) whether it's passed down from father/mother to child or a brother/cousin/uncle/whatever have just as much right to the throne. Teledji Adeledji may or may not be in line but in Ul'dah that's never stopped anyone, Gil trumps all. A new Dynasty line can begin and end at anytime (look at the rise and end of the line of Thorne).

Merchant Prince has never meant you were from royal blood, but was a term used to describe very rich and powerful magnates, usually having a good part of a town wealth and thus, a great influence over it. Ul'dah being a city totally built on the principle "Money is Power (and everything else)", the term "Merchant Prince" should fit anyone with enough financial power and trying to build his own faction (like Teledji does). You could say the whole Syndicate is made of Merchant Princes, actually.
If you want another relation to a game that people compared a bit recently, take WoW. The goblins factions are lead by Merchant Prince, having a bunch of workers and companies working for them, amassing cash. That's the same here.

Now if he is an actual Prince (he might be. Highly unlikely, but hey), it has never been mentioned in game. Or even implied.
The same infographics that has been posted doesn't mention prince in Japanese or French (though it does in German). Until we get more informations than ONE picture about it that doesn't even say the same thing in half the language,

I'll finish with the fact that there's a "prince" in japanese that is only a nobility title and doesn't relate to a royal/imperial family.
