    Nanamo's role in the future

This is a speculation thread about U'dah's current sultana. I think she will have a more active role later in the storyline, especially concerning Teleiji and the Syndicate. The question how will the recent turn of events affect her in the long run, and what this means for Ul'dah and maybe the rest of Eorzea?

With the Sultana's brother Teledji being a member of the Syndicate and the Syndicate's main ambitions being gil and power. I always thought a sibling dispute would happen, but I expected Lord Lolorito to be the first to try and vie for the power in Ul'dah. Whether or not Teledji has an Ascian behind him will remain to be seen, but with the Garleans in "ruins" it's the perfect chance for him to strike and try to seize power. This is why I enjoy Ul'dah compared to Gridania and Limsa, makes for good drama. Of course realistically Admiral Merlwyb should be facing the Gauntlet (I think that's the name of the event to choose the next Admiral) but I doubt we'll see her in anything threatening her power relatively soon lol.

Actually he's the Prince of Ul'dah, making him quite related~ As it stands we don't know if she has anymore brothers or sisters so he'd clearly be next in line if something happened to Nanamo going by the current knowledge we have.

A story-line where we had to deal with Nanamo's political marriage would be pretty interesting. Especially if she feels she's going to need a better heir in a hurry.

I would like to know where this is stated, as I've never seen it said in-game anywhere. :\

It's from 1.0 lol that's what I explained in my earlier post. 2.0 has not explained who Teledji Adeledji is to new players. http://ffxiv.gamerescape.com/wiki/Immortal_Flames_Afire in 1.0 we had 3 different "papers" publishing articles which would more than likely contain some kind of lore. Each city state had one. The Mythril Eye for Ul'dah, The Raven for Gridania, The Harbor Herald for Limsa Lominsa. Gamerscape has all the old articles in the archive they're pretty fun reads. But back on to my point, it's hard for new players to understand who exactly is on and what the Syndicate is if they didn't play in 1.0 (that and was from Ul'dah like myself) and even then most 1.0 players didn't understand the storylines. Most of the real Lore of the game wasn't fully understood until Anonymoose, Catapult, myself and others began to brainstorm and rewatch cutscenes (CG Midlander thread, so many pages) and this was when the servers went down or shortly before they did. Luckily for us Ferne stopped by quite a few times to help us with things.

A lot of the 2.0 storyline bugs me (such as Gaius playing 2nd fiddle to the Ascians and being a weak character while Nael was a strong figure and felt like what a real Garlean enemy should be) so I'm hopeful things will get fleshed out more, especially since we were told the 1.0 storylines would be explained eventually (Travanchet and the horn? Corguevais and Ascilia with a splash of who killed Nielle and what happened to Warburton). But yeah Ul'dah will continue to drive me crazy lol I always assumed the "evil" of Ul'dah would come from Lord Lolorito first, he was way more dark and dangerous in 1.0. But Teledji Adeledji is on the Syndicate and the main purpose of the Platinum Mirage is the closed doors high-roller high-stakes casino atmosphere it has going on and if he's a 2nd in line he has a lot to stand if Nanamo is sick/killed/whatever...straight from phase 3 and the same lalafell still has the speech bubble as of 3 minutes ago. (Didn't want to upload 2 of the same pics, only difference being my real character compared to betas)

All we need is a failed assassination plot against Nanamo, to finally pissed her off real bad and suddenly she become a terrifying persona or lets just say Nanamo is WoW's Jaina Proudmoore before the destruction of Theramore and we need a megalomaniac Garrosh style to trigger Nanamo's "mature" personality

Wouldn't 1.0 Darnus be considered a "Garrosh" technically? I'm only starting to get into the SoO storyline but didn't Darnus call down Dalamud against the will of the empire in the first place? Much like how Garrosh started creating a shitstorm (using the Sha's Heart) against Thrall's vision for the Horde?

Aside from that, I could never see Nanamo's character go from innocent to psychotic (with good reason) like Jaina did, but who would be a person so close to her that his/her death would cause them to snap? Besides Raubahn

Garrosh was the leader of the Horde at that point, so not really. Many orcs were okay with his vision too, and were ready to do anything to fight the alliance and kill all those who stood in their way.
Nael on the other hand was allowed to cast down Meteor, but Gaius was against it and so "helped us" figuring out what was happening because he didn't want to conquer a wasteland.

As for Jaina, this is totally different. She's one of the strongest archmage in Azeroth, and was betrayed by people she allowed in Dalaran in the first place. Right now, Ala Mhigan refugees aren't going to detonate a mana bomb empowered by the most powerful arcane artifact in the world, eh. Besides, she'd have a hard time summoning a tsunami to destroy the opponent city ;o

WoW and FF settings are so different in so many ways, you can't really compare them.
