@Tiggy I knew that much I was further proving that parsers do indeed give advantages which does Vito the whole learning experience and can be viewed as cheating.

Or.... mods are QoL things that help people that have minds that work differently than yours overcome obstacles in the UI. For example, I happen to think in patterns that stretch beyond a line of numbers. Arranging my hotbars in the shape of a numberpad help me to visualize where my abilities are and react accordingly. So that's how I arrange my bars - and currently it's super-sloppy in that I have to accomplish with 4 bars what Bartender in WoW let me do with 2. This also prevents me from scrolling my main hot bar to different sets of abilities because I cannot visually arrange it in a way that makes sense to me.
So, congratulations I guess on being a different person? But that's all it is - different people using different tools and preferring different things. This campaign against mods is irrational and some of you need to step outside your little microcosm of "it doesn't affect me, so you shouldn't get to have something". It's immature.
Wait people were talking about spreadsheets not just viewing the damage as you go. I was under the assumption this would be the most effective way to use a parser. That way you can easily study the best attacks. Otherwise as you say what really is the point?
I agree, please also ban people who use third party message boards and talk with anyone outside of SE sanctioned sites about the game. That will show those filthy cheaters.
It does not in any way shape or form remove the learning experience. Knowing how much damage I do doesn't help people learn mechanics better it simply helps players optimize damage while performing those mechanics. It doesn't help people dodge attacks better, it doesn't help them find the best group strategy, it doesn't help them by giving them supernatural powers. It doesn't help as much as you seem to think. All it does is help people optimize and improve their damage while they are learning to do the dance. It in no way suddenly turns them into a player who clears T9 just because they ran a parser.
The prevailing problem is simply this. People think just learning and doing the mechanics is enough to win a fight.
IT. IS. NOT. ENOUGH.
You MUST have high enough damage at the same time because quite simply that's the way these battles are designed. If a player is in my raid group and they never die, never mess up a mechanic, and never cause a visible wipe but they are doing the worst damage by far then that player is most definitely holding the team back despite nailing the mechanics. The fact your team isn't clearing DPS phases is that persons fault. Without a parser that can be incredibly difficult to diagnose. Especially in battles where so many mechanics are going off at once that you don't have ample time to watch the performance of the others while maintaining your own damage, mechanics, utility.

just so that I know.....we dont have battle logs ?

Oh please act like those are easy to look through. Please take us down that rabbit hole. Please tell me it's easy after a wipe to grab that log, skim it, and instantly be able to say who was behind. Please act like that's actually a useful alternative.
Then let's wait for everyone to tell you how ridiculous that is.
@Tiggy if it cannot be captured/processed by the player in real time as they're playing the game, it most certainly is an advantage no matter how you try to rationalize it.
Thank you Tiggy, that is exactly the point I have been making !! you want a parser as a convenient tool in order for you to reach the end-content asap without putting forth some work, work that you want the others to put forth but not you. That is EXACTLY the reason why parsers should be banned, people need to work and learn and reading a log IS a learning curve...or you are telling me that the game doesnt require learning ?
See you have something to learn afterall, and parser remove from you that so important thing..aka learning hwo to read a log and interpret it as to become better......afterall isnt that what you all are sainy that people need to work towards end content no?
In conclusion, the game has all it requires for you to better yourself if you want to work for it....so parsers are totally unnecessary...and removing them sure remove some of the immaturity that runs around.
I am glad you said what you said..*lol*
