Fundamental Flaw With Frontlines

I don't see why they divide it by GC at all and just go by assigned colors and whatever color that needs the people, players get distributed as needed. Ranking up PER GC and then getting locked into it just seems like a bit too much to me for a game where majority of the playerbase doesn't give 2 f's about PvP anyways. It's like SE imagines stuff for granduer ... but with a tiny playerbase that just splashes their feet around in the water for a few days because its new which just destroys it all in return once the fanfare wears off. Frontline's playerbase seems to already be thinning out because the fanfare is wearing off (i don't know if this is because people are stopping or because the queues are broken though). Queues used to be instant the first week and now its pretty much over 30 minutes everyday.

SE should just give a team a color and let players just go beat each other up and then have the matches scale down based on how many players are available regardless of GC. it would fix the not having enough players on your team problem, along with many other problems as well. Also, it gives players a fair chance to win and doesn't leave players stuck on Team Lose with the same baddies every game. Flames nearly always loses on my dc to the point where we don't even really consider them a threat. My friend on Flames has played 64 games and only has 13 wins. Or, you know, the ones you KNOW for a fact are bad and you just roll your eyes when you see *that guy* in your party coming in the game with level 50 white items.

Did I say we were the ONLY people who disagreed? No. Only a very small portion of players actually read the forums, but the seven of us represent a much larger number, just like the few of you who are clearly upset by others having a differing opinion represent others as well. You clearly stated that the first poster to disagree with you was alone in his belief. I was just stating that it's fairly obvious that he isn't, based on many posts.

This will not be a path you want to take. Seth Lex's achivement isnt any better, but he/she is very active on this PvP fourm. Yotsu (Natsuki Shinohara) claims to be Rank 40, but profile character has no pvp achivements at all. Nanaya (Shiki Tohno) has PvP profile to back him up. Rydia13 (Rydia Asura)'s profile isnt open, and he/she is merely using the example from FF11 Ballista when PvP community is small. Gor has PvP profile to back him up. Snuggle (Snuggle Bug)'s profile is not any better, a Howler because of Frontline.

Are you saying that one is only allow to speak to the matter with correct profile to backup themselves? Seven names given, three of them has already failed to your standard. They are not serious PvPer and they just want to play with friends. They owe to voice their opinion but why is this now a majority? Also, how hard is it really going to be for these 3 people to switch? They dont even have a real rank according to their character profile. I seriously dont see why it be butt hurting for anyone simply just switch their GC for their friends.

In my FC, there's about only 4 or 5 of us who PvP actively. Before Frontlines came, we used to enjoy PvPing in the same party at the Wolves Den. Now we're mostly all separated by the GC barrier. PvPing solo with random people who don't listen to strategies and end up arguing most of the time is getting old fast. I liked PvP because I could enjoy it with my friends. I still do enjoy doing Frontlines, but not as much as before.

Also, someone mentioned this when I was in Frontlines and it really made sense to me. One of the reasons Flames seems to lose a lot is due to a lack of healers. Can't even begin to count the number of times I've tried to persuade people into switching to healers. But if you think back on it, there is no class that turns into healer in Ul Dah. 9 times out of 10, when a player reaches the stage where they are forced to pick a GC to join, they will join the one where they started from.

I'm hoping SE makes some changes to this.

gonna toot my own horn here a bit just to give a time frame if swapping gcs. I don't do any PvE content and have been doing PvP since it launched back in December with Wolves Den. I have two rank 40s. my first is Melie Bugg http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodest...acter/4733786/ rank 40 on Adder and my second is this one Pink Logic rank 40 on Maelstrom. Took me about a month and a half to get rank 40 through solid Wolves Den matches; Melie is almost at Alpha Wolf title. Pink was originally rank 23 on Adder but I swapped to Maelstrom about a month before Frontlines launched so I could play with my friends. I got to rank 17 on Maelstrom through Wolves Den before Frontlines launched. Once Frontlines launched it only took me the first week to get from rank 17 to rank 40 as well as I got the 100 wins mount in the first week as well, but mind you this was playing all day solo, everyday with Frontline pops back to back and winning pretty much most the games. So as a person who has swapped GC's it honestly doesn't take any time to get from rank 0 to 40. BUT now with the really slow 30min-1hour queue times, it's going to take more than a week to rank up to 40 just through Frontlines. So if you didn't rank up the first week, and the ques continue like this, then you're most likely SOL and it'll take weeks/months to get to rank 40 from 0 after swapping gc's. so if you swap gc's to play with your friends, there is a harsh reality out there that you may not reach 40 to even wear your full pvp set for a long long long time. swap wisely.

This painful long que has something to do with S/E's match up system. Isnt it more logical to request S/E to review the flaw of their matching system instead? If I que with a premade of 6 Twin Adders, it would be a hell of waiting time for me, but if I que solo or full party, it is normal que time for me. There is a flaw in their matching system and I would rather them to fix that first instead of breaking game's lore for it.
