I am one of the pre 2.3 PvP community, but I don't agree with you. FF11 Ballista is a bad example for this. The PvP community in FF11 is very small, you get to see about average of 20 people per match.
Frontline should be like Wolf den, a bunch of ppl who wants to test their skills in a battleground. The whole FL thing is rlly weird lore wise.
I think they were only comparing it with the "you're not stuck on one team always" aspect of FFXIs PvP. The reason FFXIs PvP never took off for the NA and EU communities is because they lacked knowledge and got their ass handed to them, so they screamed "this is broken" and quit. Ballista was very very gear/skill heavy. If you weren't geared properly you were going to suck. Mind you, the gear was almost always different from gear you would normally use in PvE. I was a huge PvPer on Fenrir and noticed that the Japanese loved it... Hmmm.... Wonder why. They just need to make it so that everyone can be on any team already.
I absolutely love hearing guys like you try to argue, NOONE is agreeing with you, you are self righteous and delusional, stop speaking for a group that never asked you too or wants you too. Heck you even have some of your so called ENTIRE community here saying you're wrong. I really have nothing else to say to you, we disagree and that's fine but I will keep it going if you feel the need to keep arbitrarily making stuff up.
the main flaw is that it allows premade parties... this is what destroyed wolves den. It should be solo queue only. This way you wont have 1 side win 90% of the time and everyone else quitting in frustration and you end up with an empty battlefield which is whats happening right now. People dont want to keep playing if they dont have a feeling that they at least have a CHANCE to win and this is the main fundamental flaw of frontlines.
It looks like you enjoy playing MMO solo xD, this is a fail...
You are not playing alone VS 71 Trash but with 23 "player" (or bot for some of them) vs 48 others, it's call team vs team vs team, and team means to play with teammate and have some teamplay. This means group and play with friends to have more fun and more chance to win (and have even more FUN)
You can't win FL alone, why would it be mandatory to play ALONE...
There are two reasons I can think about why Wolf Den is not popular:
1. It is heavily rely on your healer performance. If healer is dead, the game is over. Paladin can provide some sort of support to help the healer, but if provoke is not work as in FF11 ballista, it is not much of help
2. Players that is taking advantage of 3 players premade. I dont think I need to speak further more about this.
To prove your skill in Wolf Den.... is just a delusion. While it may be true for 4 players premade vs 4 players premade, but there is also this win trading thing...
What are you talking about?
I am talking about lore. GCs fighting each others is just stupid. They should do FLs like WD, everyone who wants to fight in the battleground to test their skills or for fun should be able to join a group and fight regardless his affiliation.
The GCs fighting each other makes sense and follows the game lore. The problem is that, prior to the addition of the Frontlines, your GC was primarily an aesthetic choice due to lack of GC exclusive content. If the GCs had each had a different sidequest set that only members of the GC could access fewer complaints about the GC exclusivity of the Frontline would be had.
Its stupid to rank up each GC just to play with friends.
Stop justifying flaws in the game, fanboy.
