I didn't mean to carry away anyone from SBing in open world, on the contrary, I want SE to discourage SBing in dungeons and keep it in open world, or try a different system that doesn't require people grinding monsters while using low level gear.

There need to be random gear checks in the dungeons at random times. And if you don't have the needed ilevel you get kicked out of the dungeons. Then more players would use crafted ilevel 90 for spiritbind.

Or that you can spiritbind ilevel 1-55 only in the open world and 70+ only in dungeons

As the title suggests, please remove the failure chance from Novus Infusion. There is 0 need for this. Putting in the time/effort to earn the Alexandrites & Materia is enough.

Seen a number of people fail 6 straight Grade IV infusions, it's messed up.

How many handouts do people want these days? No... Just no.

You want the weapon? Go earn it like everyone else that finished it had to. You don't NEED the weapon, if you don't like the quest, don't do it.

The chances look perfectly reasonable to me. (Especially compared to overmelding.)
You also don't lose your alexandrite upon failure.

TBH, losing an 500K materia is much much worse than losing an alex ^^;
btw, i still do the daily alex quest after i have completed my novus....is it an addiction?
SE could you let me purchase 200seals for an alex...

I don't know how people can justify spending 10 million+ on a weapon that isn't BIS, and even if it was it's a weapon that will be outdated within 3 months with patch 2.4 easy content. No doubt Shiva weapon will be i115. I decided to meld no tier 4s in my Novus and I found that expensive enough - 2 million gil wasted. Melding tier 4s is insanity.

While i agree with the OP, i don't see how SE could do this and still promote gil buying. I mean, look @ everything SE has done the last 6 months. Vanity items are top tier crafts needing something like 389 craftsmanship? Which only allows people to charge rediculous prices for such items. The new blue bikini set on levithan nets about 3.5 to 4 million because of the rareity of it. And besides, the RNG in this game is soooooo bad, 98% might as well be 70%. I'm working on Animus now, but if this doesn't get changed, i'll just not go to novus. Even as is, this relic doesn't seem worth half the work going into it. When i can get alternates that are the same damage with much less effort.

"Handouts," my suggestion isn't asking we not put the work in to collect both 75 Alexanderite's & 75 Materia's.

Also, it's a fail-argument to insist we completely skip earning our relic just because we don't like a particular aspect of it. It's perfectly reasonable to make requests or give feedback with regards to the process.

I want my Novus, I just think it's a tad much having even a chance to lose Grade IV's which are a huge cost alone. I'm still going to get the weapon, but I'm going to share with SE how I think the process could be improved upon.
