but have you thought of the impact that it will have on the economy? What about the gathering classes themselves? People bought tons of cotton bolls to make tons cotton thread to make tons of undyed crap to sell and make tons of money. Now, people might buy 2 every few weeks when they need to craft a new armor since there's no need to make repairs from it. Supply will stay up while demand will go down. There will be little use for Bots and Miners aside from leveling it up yourself so that you can get the 1 or 2 mats you need for the synth...that you won't make a profit from. This is the WORST thing to happen to this game.

A lot of the cotton boll sales are used to fund grinding, not sales.

The most profitable sellable materials from botanists and miners are not repair materials.

Why does that have any relevance, in terms of economics?

Gatherers can also gather Dark Matter, so they will be able to, just like now, gather and sell repair materials.

Yanno, I haven't seen a single item that's been able to be repaired by the piles and piles of iron and zinc ore I've pulled up mining. Could be wrong though.

cotton bolls are used to fund grinding, yes, but at the end of that grind, you have 30-40 stacks of an item that you are going to need to sell...with this new crap that they are doing, you won't sell but maybe...2 stacks in a year...and yes, the most profitable items for a LOW LEVEL bot/miner are for repair materials. We shouldn't have to be r50 to bring in more than 25k every month -.- This new system is bullcrap from an economical standpoint.

I'm expecting a serious overhaul to the variety of items gathered (drastically cut down - do I really need to find around 45-60 different types of item in one level range? That includes trees and grasses) as well as what is synthesised from what. We can't look at it like it is now, as it probably wont be anything like this by the end of summer - it is the first part in changes to the...well economy as a whole basically.
