It really isn't something could "happen" to the crystals thus disabling the ability to teleport them. Like the person said, it's not like it takes much time to travel the world by foot anyways.
If you want to run, try ffxi.
great response, if you want a hub game why don't you play vindictus.
That won't work in this thread, please respond with a proper answer or just delete your current respons. Explain why you think the traveling in this game isn't too friendly.
I don't get the obsession with traveling these worlds. Let's be honest, if you genuinely wanted to explore, you would. You wouldn't make up excuses as yo why won't, or try to take the ability away from everyone else. Traveling is tedious, even when things are dangerous, it's still a tedious experience getting from Point A to Point B after the 20th time. Remove teleportation, and FAR more people would complain about how much it sucks traveling.
If you want to explore, EXPLORE. Literally nothing stops you.
Why don't you simply walk w/o forcing us to do it too? I mean, I get it that it might sound good to YOU but what about the others that happen to like teleporting? If there is teleport you can simply walk (satisfying both ends) but you can't teleport, those who like convenience won't be much happy about it.

I didn't say anything about exploring. I was talking content and making the world feel smaller than what it already is, like it's already super small. Why do you want a hub base MMO? There's going to be "tedious" things in everything you do, and every game you play. It's part of life. So again, what's the point of this Open World MMO for you, if you don't want to traverse through it.I don't get the obsession with traveling these worlds. have you ever played a botanist? or a miner? You know those unspoiled nodes that pop for 10 minutes once an hour? Yea can you imagine being in outer lanoscea and a node pops in central shroud? yea you're not gonna make it. Do you really think people are gonna sit in central shroud all day waiting for that node to pop and not do anything else with the game? Nobody needs these old mmo mechanics, just like we didn't need this open world hunt garbage either (but I digress.)
My favorite MMO actually was hub-based, and I would love to find a good one again. But there are no good ones for consoles.I didn't say anything about exploring. And it's exciting to explore and travel the first time into an area. But as with RL, it's boring after awhile. The way the crystals work we get both. The initial excitement since we have to activate the crystals before we can teleport, and the protection from the tedium of traveling. Win-win.
Do I think the game is friendly with travel? Yes.
Do I think the game is too friendly with travel? No.
Serious question Rokien, why are you back? I'm questioning that because I'm almost inclined to believe you are impersonating him. The posts back then and now are almost completely different in format, language, sense of urgency and well, it lacks a bit of the Rokien "heart" he gave his ridiculous posts.
