Benediction is fantastic. Saves the day on a regular basis. I tank a lot, and nothing feels better than getting a Benediction at the right moment - especially considering how unreliable Hallowed Ground is with its awful delay.

Mixed feelings. I feel like if it had a shorter cooldown, I'd use it more often, and to me, that is a good thing.
With the cooldown as long as it is, it's easy to put urself in a mindset like: "better not use it now, cause I can't use it later if I really need it", then a moment where you need to use this skill never comes... making it underutilized IMO.
Alternatively, "instant" cast + no MP + full HP...
Id say reduce the healing and the cd... But then you're stepping on lustrate's toes a bit.
Maybe I should clarify that I only care about endgame content, would a 1min Benny make SRs OP sure, but seriously who cares? its a 4man pt that is meant to have a very mild challenge. Only reason I even made this post is, you are doing coil, tank just took a big hit, 2 more seconds and he is dead, hit your benny and pow only 3k HP the SCH already used lustrate and now your benny is wasted for most of the rest of the fight.
i dont have to use it very often, and, as i said in earlier post, i am very confident in my abilities. i take into account the cooldown, and how urgent the need is. i have never misused the skill, and i use it when i do need it. depending on what im running, i might use it once or twice during EX primals and during runs of ct/st with less experienced people or badd second healer. its not a skill i underuse, considering i use every skill i have.
hollowed, thats where making sure both healers understand who heals what tank. after claiming tanks, i have not had that problem.if that happens to the other tank, i use a cure/cure2 and trust that the other healer can handle the rest. your problem comes down to communication. when i claim a tank, i do it with full understanding that either one of us are perfectly capable of healing anything, even death
That doesn't work when your single tanking and the mob can do 12k in one hit the name of the game in that case is get the tank back up quick. Still in that case I normally will do Cure2 unless the tank is under 1k HP since I'm grouped with a good SCH and I'm expecting them to lustrate so I'll do a Cure 2 and then most likely a SS to prevent the 6k damage that will be coming any second now. Not to mention keeping the rest of the group up and dodging things. Got to love T9.hollowed, thats where making sure both healers understand who heals what tank. after claiming tanks, i have not had that problem.if that happens to the other tank, i use a cure/cure2 and trust that the other healer can handle the rest. your problem comes down to communication. when i claim a tank, i do it with full understanding that either one of us are perfectly capable of healing anything, even death
I do wish you could cast Cure while moving or even just a .5Cure while moving WHM have no way of healing while moving other than benediction. (regen doesn't have an initial heal so I'm not counting that, and swiftcast is not a whm skill through it can be used to cure while moving)
Benediction has the exact same delay problem that hallowed ground does so if your counting on benediction to save you because hallowed didn't I wouldn't hold my breath.
I never "count" on Benediction. Never. But sometimes it does save my precious, soft and well-shaped behind.
Most WHMs seem to save their Benediction for saving the tank (and failing half the time due to animation). I use it tactically as a off-GCD heal to save casts. Why spend 3 or 4 GCDs healing someone when I can just pop Benediction and continue DPSing or healing a different person?
That said, 5m feels about right for what it does. It lets you use it once per boss per try (on average), any shorter and you would have people relying on it, which is a terrible practice.
ive not had a problem with the animation. if anything, i use it too soon. i use swift cast and raise, and use benediction before the revival animation is complete, and heal myself. i am very good at guaging the time that it takes for the animation in relation to damage, unless the damage is almost a one-hit kill, in which case its questionable whether or not you should even try benedictionMost WHMs seem to save their Benediction for saving the tank (and failing half the time due to animation).
