Benediction works fine as it is, and the cooldown appropriately reflects the power of the spell.
As many others have mentioned, my only gripe with it is that there's a slight delay between using the skill and the healing being applied on the target because of the animation or lag or whatever it is. To be honest, I mostly use the spell in speedruns when I'm in cleric stance and the tank is going low or when I'm skirting death because of some boss mechanic I failed to dodge.
Yes, becoz of the delay, when I use it on emmergency, it's 90% to late, the tank die, and the skill is cast on me (I'm playing with 200ping, like lot of ppl I guess)
Now, Like Eisenhower, I use it in donjon in cleric stance, like when I spam holy while the tank is tanking 6+ monsters.
Or on specific time in specific fights, to pass hard thing safier, like on the last 5x claws in T9, when the boss is low enough and I know there wont be any 5x claws anymore.
Or in T8, with our tactic, we have to do mines + a defense tower in a really short delay, I do 2-3 aoe heals and benediction on the tank.
In T6 also, after the last sleave that apply the debuff, becoz we're doing it with 1 tank.
I didn't find any good use in T7, but I'm ready to use it when it's adds time, if I see things goes wrong.
Benediction and Hallowed Ground both really just need to be made truly instant. The delay on these two emergency spells due to animation or whatever is just retarded.

Copy and paste this as a macro. This will make sure the heal will only go off with a specific target and will not default to a self heal if the target is unreachable or ends up dead. Meaning you can spam it if you are out of range or waiting for someone to res.

Yes, you don't heal yourself when the target dies in the same second you cast it. But Benediction will still be wasted with the target being dead if you cast it too late. ;D
But the macro is still good if the target is out of range.
If you accidentally cure yourself once it's not really a problem most times but if you waste Benediction like that it's annoying, so I can only recommend using that macro (it's the only WHM macro I use). ^^
I want Benediction II: Fully heals all nearby party members(same radius as Medica II) and removes all debuffs. Aka, FFXIs version of Benediction lol
Lol I hear ya man! 2 things to consider on that point though. 1: Tier 3 healer limit break will do that in addition to raising all party members in range. 2: That benediction in XI was on a 2 hour cooldown (imagine that on a 5 or even 10 minute cooldown. OP as crap!
That being said, I'm totally with you on that! They should totally make a benediction II with a much longer cooldown at least!
