Why would i care about the Relic Questline i've killed T9 and didn't even started the Quest.Until you... y'know... need them In order to progress with the Relic questline... a concept that has been fundamental to FF Online's core, lore-centric gameplay for over a decade. The logic is sound. Someone who is only interested in Coil and essentially unconcerned about the remainder of the game, while perhaps a hardcore fotm gamer in general, is not a hardcore FFXIV player by any stretch of the imagination. It fits nearly all of the exact aspects of the definition of the term. Furthermore, admitting they've never touched the content this thread is talking about isn't a very good way of qualifying their stance on the issue... particularly not when that stance is "coil drops should always be the best because I only do coil." Do you really think login -> coil static -> logout is more hardcore than login -> atma farm for 200 hours -> dailies -> myth grind -> animus books -> novus upgrade -> craft -> buy house -> furnish house -> do extremes -> craft/harvest -> garden -> treasure hunt -> achievement grind -> do coil? Someone can get by and outshine all others while never touching myth/soldiery or doing anything outside of BCOB of SCOB if they so choose. That is not balance.

Why do it? Because it's there.
Especially if you're a DPS class, killing some fates is a decent way to kill time while you wait for the DF to pop. Unfortunately for tanks, they don't have this option due to near-instant queues, but they'll find some other way. Eventually, you're bound to get the 12, and be done with it.

Yes
because this (in my opinion) is retarded

I tried most things but things like crafting and dailies are just way too boring for me.
My routine looks somewhat like this:
Log in > Fish(since i can go half-afk) while queuing for pvp to cap soldiery and buy vanity gear
Raid on Tuesday, then find a raid for my alt
>Repeat
What is the point of having full 110 gear and an Animus weapon when noone wants you in their raidgroup because you can't play for shit

You don't have to care. Some people care some people don't.
If you do not care about the Weapon's Lore
... or its appearance
... ... or the Bragging rights
... ... ... Or that it upgrades to ilvl 115 in its Nexus form.
Then don't bother with it.
