About 3rd Party Softwares

It seems they banned 9 accounts yesterday for illicit activities, didn't say what they were, but I'm guessing 3rd party programs. 9 isn't that many, but at least they are catching a few of the pricks.

This is rather disturbing news, as it somewhat confirms my statement before:

SE's stance on this issue is simple.

We won't ban anyone who uses it that doesn't blatantly go around telling people they do because we can't.

Pretty much what everyone has been saying so far, Fight Club.

I had expected low numbers, but really hoped the truth wasn't as I had feared.

As it is now, will SE actually be able to do anything to stop the use of these apps that give an unfair advantage or will they just give it the parser/fight club treatment?

So all I've got after reading every single post is this:

SE knows people are cheating.

SE can't do anything right away about it.

People are upset because of artificial barriers.

SE is aware of artificial barriers.

SE still can't do anything about it.

People are placed in a Fight/Flee situation. Either join the darkside or play the blind eye to new content.

Don't let honor drive your judgement. You either fight fire with fire(Use the radar yourself) or don't even bother.

PS3/PS4 users.. I'm sorry on behalf of SE.

Incompetence can even be found in the smartest of men.

I think the devs need to go undercover and join some of these hunting LS's and groups, I say it is stupid douchebags using the cheats, which means they aren't that smart, so all they have to do is bait them into admitting they are using it, but you have to be all clever like, so they should use lines like:

"Hey, I hear that radar is all the rage these days, lets say we use it then go do graffiti and smoke some drugs."

With this kind of sneakery they should be banning cheaters left and right.

As this is nothing new or in surprise, most people in the forums maybe are just concerned that they always get just general reply´s, rather than an official statement on how SE is going to handle a certain issue which comes along a certain Add-on or Plug-in...

We all know the Radar-App is against ToS (and morality, which bothers more people than the ToS)... what people want here is to draw attention to this and maybe get some info´s about how this will be handled in future...

Dunno if it really has something to do with the radar but my bf and me noticed that since the patch yesterday no hunting mobs had a name on their head. You only see the name then you got them in your target.
Hope ist helps against the radar like: no name = not on radar.

I am sure it is being investigated. Probably the banhammer will hit hard (even if it is temporary) like when people had too much gil very fast at beginning of the game and the rewards obtained removed.
Not all the culprits will be caught but I do believe it will come.

Failure to do so is consider a violation and may result in disciplinary action being taken against the account.

The following activities are also prohibited in FINAL FANTASY XIV.
•Modifying, analyzing, integrating and reverse engineering game data
•Utility creation and distribution
•Exploiting SQUARE ENIX programming that does not run as intended to gain profit or damage other players
