Maybe i'm mistaken in saying this. but i just reliquished millions in furniture and about to relinquish millions in land as not a single plot in lavender beds has been taken over 15 hours after patch. you're just unlucky?

Small plots have been sold out on Balmung for a long time now (prior to the patch.) FCs have had a couple months to stockpile money for the opening of the sixth ward. My FC had the money together, a leader ready to make the buy when servers came up, and it still came down to luck that we got a good mists plot.
I'm thrilled I finally have a FC house, but going an entire patch cycle without one and knowing a lot of people are still getting shafted over it is annoying to say the least. Good luck finding a plot.
That's probably the most upsetting thing. It's not about the cost, because people should get what they work hard for - but the patch dropped at, what, 8AM PST? By 4PM PST, every single small lot with the exception of two or three in The Goblet was gone. What about the people who, in the window from 8AM-4PM, were just getting home from work? Or the people who enjoy sleeping in? Waiting a whole other one or two months for a next housing cycle is just exhausting.
I understand that Balmung is a legacy server and is likely to be more populated. But if you have some servers with this surplus of untouched land and other servers with people left waiting a whole other patch cycle - because they had to work or take their dog for a walk or whatever life brings us in the span of a few hours - that should be addressed.

The patch download was available ~ 10pm PST on July 7th with maintenance stated to last to about 4am PST. My FC and I were considering this very issue and had at least two of us ready by downloading the patch. Apparently the game was live at ~ 3am PST. My FC co-lead had been ready, signed in and bought the first small house plot in The Goblet. An hour later when I logged in to check on things, we'd already had 1 Medium House neighbor and ~5 other Small House neighbors. That means within 1 hour of the patch dropping, 6/20 Small House Plots were taken.
See, I had absolutely no idea about that. I guess my time-frame was a little generous. Honestly, they may as well just be doing raffles on a big Wheel of Fortune at 3 AM for the lots. Maybe that'd work out a little better.
The main thing is, like Skyy pointed out, some servers are apparently rolling in this luxurious amount of leftover land. But for the more populated servers, do they really think that rolling out 20 small lots per patch is enough for some of the largest servers in the game? Especially when that's really all people can afford because starting prices on other sizes are reaching upwards of 30 million gil for a fifth-class medium lot? There's a reason the small plots are going so fast. Unfortunately, SqEx seems completely blind to it and will probably continue to be.
you are just lucky to be in that server, in excalibur however is not that way
