yeah I just did a dummy test and came out at 386. I think it might have to do with me not wearing BiS right now do to me haveing high allagan coat but the weathered gloam so i used the high allagan.

Im not really sure what else I can do.

EDIT: just retried and get 427 on dummy with the lock camera to target function on. I think even though my camera setting was standard my auto-attacks were not hitting

Your retest sounds right with your gear. Looks like you found the key to your problem. If you still have logs from previous dummy or boss runs check and see if your auto-attack was ~30% of your total damage. If it's not then auto-attacks definitely were not getting through all the time.

I have a question regarding ToD. During the regular rotation when is the most optimal time to refresh it? Ive heard a good time is before a finisher (snap, demolish, rock breaker) is this the best time?

Also im a PLD main and we have a skill called shield swipe which is essentially a counter move when we block an attack. The skill has a higher potency than my gcds. Its also a TP gain when using it due to the low TP cost (40) and tick recovery. We also have a skill called bullwark which increases the chances of blocking hence more TP gain/potency per gcd due to more shield swipe procs.

I noticed that MNK has Haymaker which essentially looks like the same thing when used in conjunction with featherfoot. It also shares a 40 TP cost and the initial skill does deal some damage. Would it ever be a viable tool to use Haymaker everytime it procs as long as u are maintaining GL3 and DK/Demo?

I never see it used in any MNK rotations and have always been curious about it since many MNKs complain about TP starvation. I feel like it could be a usefull tool in some situations ?

For ToD I use it after I use a finisher (this is just how it lines up with my SS and rotation) although It doesn't really matter when its used as long as you keep GL at 100% up time and ToD's clipping and downtime to a minimum.

As for haymaker It would be very beneficial if it was off the gcd, but since monks rely on GL which will only last 5 (really 6 but, you need 1 to reapply) so that leaves you two slots for on gcd fillers. one could be ToD so that leaves you with one more. Other than making out GL timer more tight the only other reasons I can give is 1. The payout isnt worth the effort or 2. it is a dps decrease/or does not increase and thus doesn't warrant a gcd. This especially comes into play when most fights you can manage your tp by using invigorate properly.

99% of the time you should just use ToD after it falls off, regardless of where you are in your rotation. Except for certain circumstances you will lose neither buffs/DK nor GL3 just using it when it's ideal, unless you're inserting Fracture into your rotation which is a little more complicated.

You're not going to proc Haymaker almost ever since you have to get hit to use it. I have a feeling you're not talking about solo content because you mention TP starvation, so I'm unsure how you think it's intended to actually get used in real content.

Don't know about that, I think Boot>ToD since dat crit is excessively strong, and since ToD is a no positional, you can have it on the move.

It really depends on just plain snap decision since 99% of mnks know better then to IR before a boot, so they want to front load bootshine asap, before anything else.

Oh wow... I was wondering why the Monk Temple thread had been quiet for so long... I'm kinda late to this party aren't I? :P

I skimmed through the OP, found the opener... and shed a single tear. Finally, it has caught on!

    Silly Noc.

But, yeah, aside from the occasional person who didn't get the message, the convo's moved over here.

ToD is 270 potency with crit potential, Bootshine is 225 (247ish adjusted from Dragon Kick) potency flat without crit potential. Thus, if given the choice between ToD and Bootshine, ToD takes priority. Basically it takes priority over everything but Demolish, skill for skill, unless there's a reason not to use ToD at all due to duration or GL3 upkeep or buff upkeep.

Well Brianjack on T8 comes to mind as our MNK has that duty. Perhaps T6 with the Honey Glaze target as well. I know it would be very situational but as others have mentioned it actually procs more than we think. My main question was if its safe to use within our rotation if and when it does proc. or do u guys pretty mich remove it from your hotbar altogether.
