They probably took the east path to boot so the mages were at a massive damage reduction.

Also, for everyone else who responded, thanks for your feedback. I just wanted to know the consensus of other DRGs in the game and whether or not we're fighting an uphill battle because we enjoy our class so much. Good to know we are still totally viable and that the general playerbase is being a typical general playerbase.
Short of bosses in dungeons its not worth using chaos thrust because it wont tick for more than 5-10 seconds so it's not covered enough damage to become a valid use of time.

I have grown attached to my disgusting ss+acc chest ROFL. I'm wondering about the ct head as if it's det+crit or det+spd, it might be bis for a no accuracy set over the i90 crafted.

NEVER interrupt a combo, it's always a DPS loss.

Am I supposed to lock on to bosses?

I was reading another thread with a monk worried about his damage output. Everyone told him to lock on to targets so his auto attacks would always hit. Do we have to do this too?

I ran Lost City this morning locking on to bosses and it seemed to help a bit... maybe? It was incredibly awkward for me hitting HT and the CT combo. I want to make sure targeting actually helps before I practice it.

It takes some getting used to but it is definitely worth doing if you use Legacy type camera movement. I don't think its as important with standard type camera movement as you can still auto attack if you move camera correctly whilst changing position but I still think it is worth doing to guarantee no auto attacks are missed.

I actually find it easier to reposition using target lock as you can stand max melee range and just use left/right to change from flank to rear. Helpfull in t9 to avopid when tank is blowing up, helpfull t8 to give your brd enough room to grab homing missle etc.

No, don't. If you're using Legacy movement, locking on removes the benefits of legacy controls for nothing in return. Instead, position yourself at 5'oclock or 7'oclock of the boss and use strafe left/right to hit rear/flank. The angle for auto-attack is quite generous and you'll still hit enemies you're almost 90 degrees turned away from.

Ugh...thanks for adding another piece of CT2 DRG gear I need to look out for...

I want to start really gearing my WAR lol, but I definitely am gearing best for DRG first.

Yeah, I expect at least one drop to be able to compete.

When me and my FC was doing T5 2 weeks ago I was totally surprised as someone told me that we can't do it with my low dps output. (but did it anyway)
I always thought that my damage is great and I couldn't understand it.
I learned the RR and we went in a week later. My dps has increased but I`m still weak even though I follow the whole rotation/eat food before fight/ use dps potions when CD is off and I even got (almost) my whole sol gear.
I qoute one of the tanks "great. your damage got better, you're doing slightly more damage than me"
If that's the case, the whole purpose of drg's as dps is for nothing when I'm doing "slightly more damage" than a Pala.
I can't do anything more than that and I'm about to ditch my beloved Dragoon because I don't know that I can do better anymore....
I don't want to be weak but in this case, its not me thats weak but only the DRG.

    Any suggestions on that? :/

    Gotta give some more info..

What are you doing? How do you handle the 3 dragons at the start? How do you go about conflags? How do you tackle dread? Snakes? I do believe if you use the search the thread feature, there was a point where it was heavy on discussing opening on T5, how to deal with the mechanics, and gear/acc etc.

If not, please provide more details pls.

    PS: DRG isn't weak.
