    6. Blm

    9. Brd
    10. Nin
    11. 3.0 tank
    12. 3.0 healer

Now want to try and actually respond to the statement you claim is wrong? Come on you can do it.
He's referrring to "classes in FFXIV"

    1. MRD
    2. GLA
    3. PUG
    4. LNC
    5. ARC
    6. ACN
    7. THM
    8. CNJ

    However, since everyone else calls everything in every other game a class, it's semantically wrong to call them classes where when it means something different. So if you don't use the word "job" then he has no idea what you're trying to say. Also, don't quote me so he can't see what I type. That being said I found this quote funny;
I have never seen anyone in a class for CT, Coil, and Hard/Extreme Primals.
because this video comes to mind

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OxMxLb3qki0

He also has a fundamental misunderstanding of what a class is supposed to be. Naoki said classes were meant for solo play so you can have access to all the cross class skills, with jobs for party play. So maybe he'll actually make this somewhat of a reality with Rogue / Ninja maybe having different applications in solo and party play. But I doubt it because if it's strong solo, it's likely to be just as strong in party (if not stronger).

Second reminder, don't quote me. Just reply with "@Exstal"

Number of jobs would be irrelevant if we had more content for large groups. When you have more bodies in a raid, design the classes/jobs to not stack well and have enough varying mechanics in the instance, that encourages raids to bring balanced comps and as many different classes as they can.

This is an aside, but reading the blurb on rogues they pretty much went with my Robin Hood-esque approach but gave it to the base class (whywouldyoudothat?!.jpg). The only way I now see THF being implemented is if they went and called it Treasure Hunter or something along those lines (considering SE by proxy owns the Tomb Raider franchise, they could also call it that) and built the concept and story aspect on...treasure hunting. And before anyone asks, no, I do not want to see Lara Croft in Eorzea.

    * The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.

Please for the love of god explain to me what you people think the difference between rogue and thief is. Cause the only contention seems to be that Yoshi didn't call it thief.

A party is still eight people, and more content for large group would mean more problem to gather enough people.
And I don't know how they could prevent us from stacking better jobs if some of them really get the upper hand

Their problem is that Thief (Let's suppose Rogue = Thief) is not a job, but a class. And people use semantics to explain how the two have nothing in common although Ninja will play A LOT like Thief (We're still assuming Rogue = Thief) since 3/4 of its skills come from the class.
The best part is when they imply that Rogue won't have Thief's iconic skills without even knowing Rogue's skills

Lore wise, rogues were thieves once, but over time evolved themselves into the guilds and GC alliances of Eorzea, offering their skills in the name of their nation. To me it sounds like this opens a gateway to a potential Thief job. Meeting an NPC who teaches you the old ways before everyone went to being rogues.

Still does not answer the question.

This is how the past few weeks has gone.

Yoshi: "Hey guys I'm proud to announce you are getting the rogue/nin added to FFXIV in 2.4. Rogues are thieves that decided it was time to become members of society and form a reputable guild"

Rogues are thieves that decided it was time to become members of society

    Rogues are thieves that decided

    Rogues are thieves

Rogues = Thieves - warrent for arrest

Players 1-1048: "WTFBBQ WHERE IS MY THIEF"

So are you asking for them to add a class to the game that every city guard tries to arrest on sight?

I think they are asking for devs to add a JOB to the game that every city guard tries to arrest on sight.

To be honest this just reminds me about how disappointed I have been with the job system. As a class you have all these varying skills you can cross spec into your own personal build to use. Then you get a job and most of that is thrown out the window giving you a very limited set of skills to use from your primary class, very little from your secondary, and none if any from the other classes, let alone other jobs you may have mastered.

That's why I mentioned several other elements that would have a hand in that. If you have 6 bosses in a 24-man dungeon where 3 punish melee and 3 punish range, you have reason to bring a balanced comp. The principle that justifies the presence of a second/third tank does apply to the other roles.

If you design melee DPS to be balanced around each other with close enough DPS output, you have no reason to turn away any job(s). Same would apply for ranged.

Lurking in the shadows, adhering to no laws but their own, they punish the wicked, pilfering their ill-gotten gains and delivering them to the downtrodden masses.
Thought by many to be mere common criminals, some would say they play an unseen hand in maintaining order in the buccaneer's haven of Limsa Lominsa.
