    And I don't know how they could prevent us from stacking better jobs if some of them really get the upper hand

    Their problem is that Thief (Let's suppose Rogue = Thief) is not a job, but a class. And people use semantics to explain how the two have nothing in common although Ninja will play A LOT like Thief (We're still assuming Rogue = Thief) since 3/4 of its skills come from the class.
    The best part is when they imply that Rogue won't have Thief's iconic skills without even knowing Rogue's skills

    That's why I mentioned several other elements that would have a hand in that. If you have 6 bosses in a 24-man dungeon where 3 punish melee and 3 punish range, you have reason to bring a balanced comp. The principle that justifies the presence of a second/third tank does apply to the other roles.

    If you design melee DPS to be balanced around each other with close enough DPS output, you have no reason to turn away any job(s). Same would apply for ranged.

    * The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.
    * Design ideas:
    Red Mage - COMPLETE (https://tinyurl.com/y6tsbnjh), Chemist - Second Pass (https://tinyurl.com/ssuog88), Thief - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/vdjpkoa), Rune Fencer - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/y3fomdp2)

    That would be horrible for alliance build with the Duty Finder. Pretty much like Ifrit Hard when people left because the party couldn't use the caster LB.
    And since they remove elemental resistance to no "punish" anyone, I don't see them doing something as definitive.

    Since most skills comes from classes, the two jobs would probably play almost the same. I don't see the point in doing two jobs that fills the same role and play the same. For example, if I want to tank as a Gladiator related job, I'll go for PLD, I don't need a second tank.
