There is a stormshower at start of 2.0 pretty sure. I remember seeing yda and palpymo lookup at the sky and see the thing in the sky.

If its the scene when Yda and Papalymo see it in the forests of Gridania, no, that's the opening for Gridania from 1.0
Yes I could be wrong but I swore I saw a cg arr engine clip of them seeing it before nodding to each other and walking off

Just rewatched the beginning few CS, and I guess I completely forgot about that. I started in Ul'dah so its probably slightly different depending on which city you start off in. When you get your first crystal and Hydaelyn talks to you for the first time calling you crystal bearer, there is a starshower scene, but it isn't seen in the world, its in that black void type place where you go when Hydaelyn talks to you .

Sorry to jump back to this, but yes, that's pretty much what I assumed too. I still have the 'making of' DVD for version 1.0 that came with the 1.0 Collector's Edition that I'm pretty sure included a brief interview with Uematsu explaining about how he wrote the song, so I think I might load it up again and see if he mentioned anything specifically (such as the theme of the song and the idea behind it).Correct me if I'm wrong here, but the Land is Hydaelyn, correct?
So either she is singing in third person or it's not Hydaelyn at all?
Either way, this specific bit is pretty clearly referring to us, the Warriors of Light. Which, I think alone, tosses the idea that someone is singing to us, or that it's Hydaelyn? Seems more like some sort of folk song, honestly.
The whole song obviously has some form of duality, but I think maybe thinking of it as two separate groups at all is a bit of a stretch.
Ah yes! I knew I saw it but couldnt remember where

If not a folk song, a hymn of some sort that would be sung at whatever the Eorzean equivalent to sunday congregation is.Sorry to jump back to this, but yes, that's pretty much what I assumed too. I am pretty certain that "the Land" and "Hydaelyn" are completely interchangable. Sure, if she died the planet would exist, but much in the same way that if we died our corpse still would exist.

Your comment made me think... does aether come from Hydaelyn, or does Hydaelyn use/contain aether? If she "died" (if possible?), would aether still exist, thus life on the planet would still go on? This gives me shivers.
I know posting this here is probably a good way to get myself in trouble and to get this piece of music removed from the site to which I linked. I hope it lasts long enough for those of you theorizing on the meaning of this song to hear it once.

IIRC this was played when Dalamud was about to crash... when the servers were going to shutdown.
