Apart from the hideous Atma Farming by fates with ABSOLUTE random chance of getting your drop.

You don't want to do those farms for those weapons? Farm Leviathan, Farm Second Coil, Get Soldery Weathered weapons.

I still think the "relic" was way to easy at the beginning and that we should get A LOT MORE, crafteable weapons that do their job, with the relic showing who really likes to invest time.

this relic was easy to get, because people from the V1 had it for ages, and was not means to be the last weapon for age! that why they did put it soo fast to get, even if i think that the zenith part was an error and i will have loved more quest for this.

i think they need to add us challenge specialy designed for the relic! maybe even solo, duo, group and raid fight for this, the grind is not fun!

and i will never say it enough, the gears are not the purpose, but a means to reach the purpose... the goal it's to beat content, the weapon is not the end, only a way to be able to face harder content!

Yeah, like this the relic doesn't feel like a relic.

What I really loved in FFXI relic progression was how you went from a worthless piece of scrapmetal more and more to a useable piece, and the more you progressed the more the weapon "interacted" with you.
Now it is "Get scrap metal, make some cast to fit scrap metal, kill 2 fairly easy "boss" encounters, do 1 dungeon, kill 20 mobs, kill 3 primals. With Titan HM being the hardest of this,and Titan HM's weapon being better as the non Zenith weapons (and better than some zenith) I felt kinda rolled.

Now the Atma grinding. Fate after Fate after Fate after fate and so on. Only being able to do Dynamis all 3 days, and hoping to be luck to get enough currency so the run wasn't a monetary failure. Still after a run you were certain to have a certain amount of currency in addition to useful gear. You needed to play with othes and be able to trust them.

No matter how much it sucked to grind Dynamis, it sucked less than grinding Fates as level 50 in lwvel 1-46 zones

me i will ask something, we know that new jobs is coming and that the relic quest will continue for a long time...
i will take the example of the ninja, since it come soon. some people will switch of main, with the arrival of the ninja, do you really believe that this person will want to redo one more time the whole stuff?

By the time the new jobs are released, at least the atma/animus portion of the quest will most likely be nerfed. Ninja is releasing in the same patch as the 3rd turn of coil, a new tier. They said they might possibly change the quest when the item level goes up.

Sure it might still take a bit to do, but probably not as bad as right now. This is going on the assumption that there will be a new tombstone to replace soldiery when it gets uncapped and myth is retired.

There will most likely always be alternatives to the relic, other weapons that you can get from the patch content that they release like coil, or primals. The relic quest line is there to fill in holes if you can't get the other weapons.

Not that I disagree that the atma/animus quest is boring, but what you might not find fun, other people might.

There will always be alternatives, yes, but some of us would like to keep the relic itself up to date. Yes, I know that a weathered Rosenbogen would beat the Artemis Bow Animus, and so would a Tidal Wave Bow. And yes, I know that the High Allagan Composite Bow is Best in Slot. The odds of my being able to find time to raid seriously during this tier of content are slim, though, so I'd like to get the best bow I can outside of raids. That's the Novus. But the odds of my finding motivation to finish the book grind and start the Alexandrite grind are also pretty lacking. I mean, if I were to do it all throug BF SRs, it'd take me 173 more runs to get the remaining books. Granted, I'll be doing roulette to mix it up, but you can only do one of each roulette per day, and that often doesn't take long, leaving the rest of my playtime as "huh, what to do now?"

Im level 50 whm I accidentally deleted my relic weapon is there any way possible of getting it back some how? Because I cant do the up in arms quest are anything of that nature is there anyway to make it or are there other optins ingame to get it ? Need help please thanks lho'a Obera is my characters name

Uneven comparion.

FFXI relic was an exceptional weapon that basically made you super-special, gave you the best weapon that was going to last forever in the game and an extra skill. Also, only the most hardcore players did it, because it was aimed at them.

FFXIV is... the second best weapon in the game, for now. Which given the vertical progression of the game, it means it's shit. It doesn't give you any special kill like the one in XI did. Everyone does it because the game has little content other than that and coil, it's the only "long time" goal people can do.

Basically, Yoshi didn't understand anything about FFXI relic quest and the gear design.

Try visiting the Calamity Salvager in one of the main cities and see if one of the weapon options there let you buy it back.

You can buy a base relic from the Special NPC vendors in each city. They're like 50k gil.
