Actually, you can only push your chocobo into Rank 11 with chocobo raising, it's not a "purely visual" thing.I don't know which is more disappointing:
-the fact that I can't access this content
-it's yet another purely visual thing without any depth whatsoever (feed choco an item to switch color doesn't really hold a candle next to VII,IX,XI & XIII-2 systems now does it?)
This almost makes me not care but not quite. It's still a breadcrumb of a feature dumbed down and placed out of reach.
Very true... logically. However, the people complaining about this will complain that they have to pay for personal housing. Just wait, it'll happen. In fact, I'm looking forward to the future complaints about the ~300k FC room fee once it's released, as we already had some threads crying about just that. I can guarantee too, that had everything been free, they would complain that it doesn't "feel special" since everyone has access. These are the folks that will actively seek out anything to hate on.
It's best to either ignore their complaints or just disagree and then ignore. Make them pop a vein or two in anger that they can't grasp the idea that MMORPGs may require you to spend some time trying to form a means for an income for yourself.

How is it fallacy? Unless a game has run its course and everything is being nerfed there's always going to be content that requires you to work with other people. The exception to this is MMOs that are mechanically easy enough or overly macroed so that 1 person can multibox raid content. I want to meet someone who can multibox clear the first Coil nevermind Second Coil.
FYI Yoshi answered the question about Personal Housing release during E3 stating he's aiming for before 2.4. Therefore it WILL happen within the next year.
I hope we can make them any color of the rainbow, instead of the usual red/blue/black/green/yellow.
The fallacy, specifically, is the first part of the statement. "It's a MMO" is a meaningless qualifier, as all MMO means is that multiple people can join a persistent server at the same time. It has nothing to do with gameplay. How is it fallacy? Unless a game has run its course and everything is being nerfed there's always going to be content that requires you to work with other people. The second part of the statement makes sense as some things in this particular MMO require multiple people to complete. Though in this case, a single person could conceivably create a FC by bribing people to sign at the start and then purchasing a small house + land (less than 2 mil for some of the Goblet properties).
Having an opinion does not make you right or wrong, it simply means you have an opinion. Don't get irritated when people don't agree.
There's no fallacy towards the "It's a MMO" statement when you actually look at the intended context that it's an "MMORPG". The genre itself is founded, and eventually made mainstream, on the very things you incorrectly consider a fallacy. The fallacy, specifically, is the first part of the statement.
