Why exclude people from Chocobo raising?

There's no fallacy towards the "It's a MMO" statement when you actually look at the intended context that it's an "MMORPG". The genre itself is founded, and eventually made mainstream, on the very things you incorrectly consider a fallacy.

Made mainstream by reducing the reliance on absolutely needing to group to enjoy the genre. To me, FF14 has the right balance of solo and group gameplay. I can log on and do absolutely nothing in a group and enjoy myself. Mind you, I got off the "progression" hamster wheel many years ago and prefer the social aspect of MMOs

Thank you Camate, but I think we require a little more information. The even bigger issue here is the fact no one has addressed the number of chocobos we will be allowed to raise in the stables. I understand it was stated "one, for now" in the live letter, but that fails to explain whether it's "one per FC member, with a max of 8* members' chocobos being raised at any given time" or "one chocobo at a time per FC, and the FC must decide the order in which its members chocobos will be raised".

That's massively over complicating the issue. Why would it be limited? Let us use the new personal rooms as a model here. You buy a personal room that you access through a door. Every player who has a personal room accesses it through the same door. This has no limitations on the number of personal rooms.

Why would you even think the house would support a limited number? It will work the same way with 1 stable usable by every single player at the same time. Any and all limitations like you suggested would be entirely unrealistic. Is your glass half empty and you just expect everything to be the worst way possible right out of the gate until you get clarification otherwise?

As for multiple chocobos what they meant was one per person. You're companion was specifically mentioned. This gives further context that what they meant was 1 per player. Not per guild.

They are already working on it. You'll just have to wait a bit longer.

So since I'm not in a FC I basically can't take advantage of these 2.3 housing and chocobo features? Uh..... Wow. Guess I'll stick to playing other MMOs until all that is sorted out.

we been waiting since beta for it, personal housing isn't until 2.38 so several months for that 2.3 is july 8th supposedly

Why would you not be in an FC, seriously? If you love playing solo so much, pay 2 randoms 5k and make your own, then grind it up to lvl 5 doing whatever solo activities you do apparently so you can buy your own house for a paltry >2 million. Can't make 2 million? Use your myth to buy crafting items and sell them until you have enough, and put it on your retainer and forget about. Try spirit bonding, you can usually buy lvl 45-49 crafting jewelry and goto Urth's to SB it and make profit. Farm things. Play the game through roulettes, you make money that way too.

Seriously, if you are complaining about being "not included" in this activity that has been stated over and over to be an FC activity then I don't know what to say. The only person holding you back from taking part is yourself.

This is something I was looking forward to but being picky about who I play with I've been very happy with my little Linkshell, whose members span several FCs. I don't see why they decided to limit it to FC members with housing only? There's plenty of Chocobo NPCs out in the world ? Anyone have any idea?

People in small FC's without housing lose access to these features too, I don't get why SE would stop some of their playerbase accessing Chocobo raising (housing I can understand a little)?

Its worse than that. Just like Gardening and Furnishing, its also limited to just the people in that FC that have permission to do it. So unless you run an FC, you've got to compete with other people and hope you've got some seniority otherwise these features are unavailable to you. Not ideal in the least.

It makes me want to form my own FC just so I can do this stuff - which is a bit ridiculous.

You can join Chocobo Legion FC we welcome everyone and keep the weird ones. We won't force you to do anything with us but i challenge you to join us and not get involved in FC fun runs, Darq's Story Time, map spams, etc. Worst case you aren't weird enough and run away screaming best case you have some fun get your chocobo stable and private room.

What's sad is that, after WoW's suicide, this is THE BEST MMO game around. The others are much worse. I say this after trying practically all other MMOs. :P

I belong to a small FC that didn't make it in time to get a house; not just because we didn't make 2M fast enough, but also because SE thought in their utmost wisdom to allow FCs to buy more than one house. There are free companies in Balmung who bought more than one FC house, and I'm not even talking about one in a different area... no, there are a few who bought houses in the same area and in the same ward...

Now all what's left is Large houses that my company will never manage to afford (we're up to 3-5M now). My hope lies in the incoming new wards.
