This is a good thing. Its time MMO's start phasing out pvp gear anyways. And this is coming from someone who used to be 100% in favor of pvp gear, but I'm just getting to the point now that I find pvp gear to be pointless. PvP is PvP, simple as that. Have rewards but that reward shouldn't be stat progression which creates a nightmare for new players. Believe me I get it. I always had the top pvp gear in swtor and I was against nullifying all that effort (they added a system called bolster which gave a certain amount of pvp stat to players without pvp gear)...but really all I did was laugh at the under geared people since its pointless against someone equally geared as the pvp stat just made all the bonuses from it become equal. Why bother having that gap to begin with? Its just silly. There's other ways to give rewards and incentives that doesn't need to involve pvp gear and a pvp stat.

I think people who are against are still on the "laugh at the undergeared" phase and dont want to miss out on that aspect of pvp. Never mind the fact gear normalization in frontlines will generally make it so a LOT more people participate, instead of just the overgeared people sitting around waiting for a newbie to gank for 4 hours.
